Randolph with the monster fast-break block on Stuckey. Man, good thing Maggette is injured or Nelson would've subbed him for Randolph after that.
Only one player shooting 50% at halftime (Davidson, 1-2). Man, it's really getting hard to watch these games anymore.
Lol @ this game. Randolph doing ok, I kind of like how Maxiel came in and owned him relentlessly. I love Maxiel's attitude/aggressiveness. Jermario Davidson sucks ass but seems to put up decent stats. Hes got the tools- athleticism, length, decent J, size. Just seems to be lacking that stuff inbetween that makes good players. I don't wanna say hes dumb (basketball IQ-wise) yet but I just don't see his impact on the game right now despite decent stats. And as I type this Randolph makes a SICK inside move with a pump fake to shake Sheed and finish and and 1. Then a SICK block. Hes got 13/6/2blk in 34 min. Decent night for him so far.
Don Nelson is a fucking idiot. Anthony Randolph is already injured, he plays him 47 minutes. In the final minutes, he gets a cramp, and Nelson tells him to stretch it out. He gets a cramp again in another minute, Nelson still doesn't take him out. With one minute left in the game, Randolph falls on the floor and can't play anymore because of how fucked up he was. Nelson finally takes him out with 50 seconds remaining. What an idiot.
Well, it was what it was. Did anyone really expect them to beat Detroit? They had only 8 healthy players, and almost all of those are rookie/DLeague. Personally, it was fun to watch the game. I just wanted to see Morrow/Randolph/Belly for extended minutes. No, they didn't play that well. Though Randolph had some nice moments and looked more confident. I'm just glad they got this under their belt. I love how each of those guys got 13+ shots, even though few went in. We also got to see a little of Davidson, which is great. Why not? Even Kurz got 22 minutes. The young players needed this. They even came back, after a dismal 1st half, to score 51 points in the 2nd half. Not bad! Man, what about that Detroit defense, though? That's what I'm talking about! It seemed like midway through the 1st quarter, Detroit got in the huddle and suddenly realized the Warriors were missing almost all of their regular rotation players. It looked like they then came out on a mission to completely obliterate the Warriors. Just to completely school the rookies. And they pretty much did. 63-40 at halftime, and GS shot like 28% in that 1st half. That Detroit team is going to be good in the playoffs. Nobody wants to face a defense like that. It makes for a long and uncomfortable night. I love it. But it was fun to see these guys sink or swim. They had some moments, and didn't let themselves get chased out of the gym. I'm glad it finally happened for Belly/Randolph/Morrow, especially seeing them play together. Even Rob Kurz and Davidson were good to see. This will be a learning experience, for sure. They probably haven't tasted defense like that before. It was almost like Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun and Rasheed told the Piston huddle that they were going to introduce these young GS rookies to life in the NBA. It was good to see.
The other positive to take from this game is we're getting closer to catching the T-Wolves. We're only two games behind them in the loss column .
8 active players, every big in foul trouble, and it was cramping due to playing big minutes... not an injuiry.
