Mavericks 52-14Pistons 51-13Spurs 51-14So who really has the best record? I know the Mavs are up 1 in the win column, but a game back in the loss column, or do they just go by win %, in which case Detroit has the edge...I mean that just confuses me a bit.But remember when Detroit's best record in the league was almost insurmountable...well now 2 teams may pass them up.

See it's kinda hard to say who's has the best record if the Pistons haven't played as many games as the Spurs or Mavs...it's been like that for a while, the Pistons it seems have played up to 2 less games till recently.

Yeah but when you have that high of a winning percentage the number of losses mean more than the number of wins so Detroit has the best record.
That loss to the Knicks really hurt the Pistons' demeanour lol. That was the funniest thing ever. Rip and Sheed getting ejected.
Detroit seems beatable now, even the Knicks beat them last night. They might not even get 60 wins this year.
Well last night proved that if any one of their starting 5 is out they are a very beatable team, They don't have as much depth as some of the other great teams and they pretty much depend on each one of their starters being healthy.
By the conclusion of the year, I see Detroit taking hom the best record, with Dallas in a close 2nd, and the Spurs behind. Come playoff time however, all that could be up in the air. Will Tim Ducan overcome injuries? Will Dallas continue the way they are playing? Will Miami play to their potential? Will Shaq play consistently? It'll be a fun ride boys
The way it works is Dallas and Detroit are tied for first place. No one is any games back. But Detroit is leading by percentage points. So if it was listed it would be like.1. Detroit:2. Dallas: -3. San Antonio: 1/2So Detroit is number 1, but not by any number of games, and San Antonio is a half game back.
Um San Antonio is ahead of Dallas as both records are the same at 52-14 and Spurs lead the tiebreaker.
I see the records in that San Antonio will win over the top record with Detroit and Dallas right up there but because of the injuries I would go with Detrit and Dallas gets the 3rd best record.
Well the thread was originally started where Dallas was still a half game up, they were off last night and the Spurs played...that's the difference. And actually, Detroit has the tiebreaker over the Spurs since they beat them head to head twice...and as of now, the Mavs have the tiebreaker over the Pistons since they won the only meeting between those two teams.
