OK i know i have said i will root for Phoenix to keep losing until we clinch a playoff birth, but for tomorrow night I am having second thoughts. Tough call other than i want it to go 4 Ot's. But in the end I think i will root for ...............................fuck i don't know. I see advantages from both scenarios.
I really don't think Phoenix and Dallas are going to leapfrog us to keep us out of the playoffs. That said, I'll root for Phoenix to improve our seed.
I'm starting to thin the Phoenix is already so far out of our rear view mirror that maybe it would be nice to stay away from the #8 seed and playing the Lakers in the first round. Either way, I can find the positive in tomorrow nights results.
Let Phoenix lose, make the mountain unclimbable, then let Portland do the damage to Dallas mano y mano in the next game. Maybe there is some way they can both lose?
no reason to really root for either. dallas and phoenix are not teams that portland is competing with for playoff seeding. dallas, phoenix, and (maybe) denver are competing for the 7-8 spots. san antonio, houston, portland, utah, and new orleans are competing for the 2-6 spots.
It is a win-win for us regardless. The Suns have a long climb, and I don't mind them holding onto the Mav's leg.
The reason I think I will root for Phoenix is that I am hoping Dallas loses all 4 games on this trip. That would be a back breaker for them as well. @Phoenix @Portland @lakers and @GS
we've been mostly pathetic on the road and have 10 road games left, most of them tough. we could still easily finish 7-8. so could utah for the same reason.
portland has been terrible on the road against good teams. depending on what you consider atlanta, portland has either 3 or 4 road games remaining against good teams. against bad teams on the road, i think it's pretty safe to say that portland will win 2 out of every 3 if they continue what they've been doing this year.
I'm rooting for Dallas to win tomorrow night. That said, part of me kinda wants to the Suns to catch Dallas for the 8th seed. Shaq vs Kobe first round would be fun. Especially if the Suns could pull it off. I don't think the Mavs have a shot in hell against the Lakers.
I'm rooting for Phoenix. Portland is going to make the playoffs. I root for the higher seed to lose now, among other Western teams in the playoff picture, the better to impact Portland's seeding.
I want Dallas to lose, but not by so much that they come out with an attitude.. Portland pretty much is a lock to get into the playoffs now, barring a complete collapse or a Brandon Roy injury. Not sure if facing the Spurs at 7 is much better than facing the Lakers at 8th. We might be able to take the Lakers to 7 games, but NO WAY IN HELL the NBA would let us win that series. They might let us beat the Spurs though(if we could). We're lucky that we'll be facing Dallas on the 2nd night of a back to back, where they'll be playing a faced paced Phoenix team. Also, Utah plays the Pacers tommorow, who are very tough at home. If they lose, we are in 1st place. Utah has VERY tough schedule for the remainder of the season. If the only lose 9 more games, they'll have done terrific. 50 wins is probably their ceiling.
