At this point in their respective careers, who would you rather build your team around, Tracy McGrady or Yao Ming? Whlie TMac is still one of the most talented players ever to play the game, his shot selection and inconsistent injuries are really hurting his career. Yao Ming on the other hand, is playing more aggresively, putting up 28 and 12 since the All Star break, not to mention he sells mad tickets... In conclusion, Yao Ming is a guy who is quickly becoming the most dominant force in the NBA, and he is a guy I'd rather build my team around than TMacPS: Yes, I did get the idea for this topic off NBA Nation. Made alot of sense to me.
Yaozer. Always build around a big man. Even though you have the rare guards from time to time (Leborn, Kobe, Kidd, MJ, ect.)
For me it would have to be Yaop Ming. It's very hard to find a great center in the league and not that hard to find a good guard. Yao is maybe the best C in the League right now. He has great footwork and nice touch around the rim. He height effects players' shots on the defensive end and he is very young. TMac is getting older and Yao is not even in his prime yet. I could get a good pg like Nelson and draft a guy like Rudy Gay, build around that and you're gonna get some championships.
This is easy. Definitely Yao. You always look for big men first. They are always the hardest to find, and when you find a big man thats 7'6" then thats a no brainer. Plus, you can always find good guards in the draft or in the FA to fill around the big man. Yao is a great player and has stepped up since T-Mac has been out.

Yao Ming would be the logical answer, and I keep going back and forth on this one...I would have to say Tracy McGrady. Because say you take a team and build it around Yao. Your not gunna win with just him. Your going to need that "Tracy McGrady" kind of player to go anywhere with Yao.

You just need the right circumstances, and in the NBA right now, it is very hard to get both good guards and good centers, regardless of cap room. There are tons of Guards and Centers out there trying to get a job, but there is a reason so many players are signed and released from contracts these days: Players are not as good and prepared as they should be. Even teams with cap room will ahve trouble

Read the topic again.Good guards are alot more common in the league then good Centers.
Yao of course. Hes dominating right now. When he bulks up hes going to be the top center of the league. If McGrady somehow gets healthy again...My answer changes.

After that, you fill in.
I would have to say Steve Nash he made Phenix amazing this year with the loss of Amaethe only star with him was Marion, Nash has 51 or 54 double doubles.

Steve Nash isnt an optionThe question was who would you build your team around T-Mac or Yao ming.2. Again where do you get your stats from. Do you make them up? first you said Kobe took 66 shots in his 81 point game and made 305 of them then you said Jorda has the record for most assists in a a a single game. Now your saying Nash has over 50 double doubles.Nash has alot but I know for a fact it is under 30.

It has to be Yao, in all sports you build with what everyone wants and most dont have. In the NBA, not many teams have dominat C, so there you go. Plus, TMac has the bad back, an injury you never shake.
