Jets not hoping for holt

The New York Jets, despite having lost receiver Laveranues Coles to free agency after tearing up his contract in order to give him a chance to find a better deal on the open market (he did), aren’t interested in any of the big-name wideouts who are, have been, and likely will be on the market.

Former Colts wideout Marvin Harrison hasn’t gotten a sniff from the Jets (or anyone else for that matter). Former Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens drew strong interest from an AFC East team on the other side of the state. And Rams wideout Torry Holt, who likely will be cut before a $1.25 million roster bonus comes due on March 17, likewise won’t be continuing his career in the Meadowlands, unless he’s playing for the other team that the venue houses.

According to Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News, the Jets have no interest in Holt.

Apparently, the Jets plan to target a receiver in the first or second round of the draft.
