We have none of the above burger places in or around Wichita. We do have a Smash Burger though, there a little on the pricey side but they make a great burger.
thought that was big time. yeah, they have bbq i guess. btw, why is kansas city in misourri...fucking retarded.
In the Portland area, Mike's Special Deluxe Burger rules. Here in Beautiful Central Oregon it's the Pilot Butte Drive-In's Tavern Burger.
There is a Kansas City, KS and a Kansas City, Mo. It's the same city it but developed to span over the two states. And yes, we have a LOT of BBQ joints down here. the two most prominent are Two Brothers BBQ and Hog Wild Pit Bar-BQ. We also have a pretty good history of national fast food chains starting here, Pizza Hut, White Castle, Taco Tico, etc have all been started in Wichita. If you ever come here expect to have some of the best food you have ever tasted.
I like any kind of mushroom swiss burger. When making homemade burgers I top it with bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar and avocado if we have any around.
I heard White Castle isn't very good. Kind of a bummer, cause it looked delicious in Harold and Kumar go to White Castle...
just had 5 guys for the first time tonight, it was pretty good. i liked the ability to dictate every topping and the addition of mushrooms on the burger. i'd give it a 7 out of 10, not great but not horrible. i don't think i'll be driving from vancouver to beaverton for it anytime soon though. i did really like the fries.
personally i'm more of a wilbur guy, fried egg, ham and bacon on a burger is just about perfect. add in a pitcher of rubinator and some cajun tots and that's one hellva meal.
The Pilot Butte Drive-In in Bend has some great burgers and has won best burger in Oregon multiple times.
Most of the places you guys mention isn't near here, Gresham, almost Boring. Fast food I like Burgerville because they have tillamook cheese. I do like american cheese to though. I also like Carl JRs western burger. I've been in a chili cheese fries mood for a while now and I like Carl JRs a lot. It's the color and texture of diarrhea, but tastes great! Calamity Jane's has great burgers. It's on the other side of Sandy so it's a ways away, but much closer than many, to me anyway, that has been posted here. They have a great selection: http://whatscookingamerica.net/RestaurantReviews/CalamityJames.htm The Truffle Hunter in Gresham has great burgers and you can get it on home made bread. I love their multi grain bread. There mushroom burger with grilled onions is my fav. I can't stand raw onions, but love them cooked. If I make a burger at home I just put cheese, tomatoes, mayo, and maybe relish on it. Something I like a lot is to just make a burger, usually with garlic salt, and butter two slices of bread and put the hot burger on it so it melts the butter. Usually medium rare burger. Great shit! I do love a good cheeseburger. Sometimes I'll order one at a restaurant and my wife will think I'm crazy. She'll say you can get a burger anywhere, but most are so processed you can't really call it a cheeseburger.
