pssshhh, he is probably just saying that because he is in a pissing match with SVG. Shaq talks too damn much
lol, there's no way in hell Dwight's going to last as long as Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He's got about 10 years or so. But yeah, it's not like what Shaq said was far-fetched. Dwight may be the better center, but not by a lot.
Dwight is miles ahead of Yao. It's not even close right now. Shaq is just still bitter about the stupid Van Gundy incident.
Howard is what, 23? Shaq is 37 and still playing at a high level. I see no reason why Dwight won't be able to as well.
Almost everyone says its either Yao or Dwight Howard. But if I could pick from any player in the league to be my starting center in a big game, I'm taking Tim Duncan.
I'm sure a lot of people would, me included, but technically Duncan is a PF, right? That's why he hasn't been discussed in this thread.
Technically, labels don't mean anything. You put the 5 guys on the court that give you the best shot of winning. If I've got my four other positions filled -- two guards and two forwards -- and I had to choose a "center" to complete my lineup I'm going to take Duncan. For all practical purposes, that makes him the best center in my estimation.
Duncan is actually technically a PF, as that's what SA has always listed him as. But he's their center. He plays just like every other center in the league does. He often guards the opposing team's center. I'm with durvasa... Duncan is my choice.
