Re: About my thread Lakers being Suspended

Its not like the 32 teams have 2 players (odom, Kobe) within 4 years to be suspended. I am merely revealing an observation regarding one club (Lakers), having 4 incidents within a 4 year period. I am not trying to single out those two players but I think its important to everyone that do the Lakers really want this type of pubilc press upon their organization?

I would have responded to JE but this post suffices for me. Thanks.

You wont but you have to admit we have several posters here who just see him (and other Laker fans) with a Laker in their signature and avatar and immediately suggest they're trolls. That is not productive at all to any type of conversation.

It's not only clever, it's a question you can answer. And like I said, I was there, so I know exactly what the circumstances were. By trying to feign knowledge superiority on this particular issue you're only demonstrating your own ignorance.

I actually always come in to any forum with good intentions. I'm never a dick and I always voice my honest opinion. If it's a pro-Laker one, I voice it, if it's a pro-whoever the fuck else, I post it. Just because I'm a Laker fan doesn't make me biased. I may be a fan of the team but I'm a fan of the NBA first and foremost and I hardly ever let my fandom effect my opinion. If I say something, I believe it because that's what I believe, not because of who I root for.

Despite this, I still have been treated like shit on numerous occasions here.

That's funny, I've rarely had pleasant experiences when you lot have come in here. There's obviously some thick-skinned exceptions, but in general it doesn't work out well. So what are you doing here?
You're the one missing the point. I don't care if a Bobcats' fan is enthused to join this site or not. I don't give a fucking flying fuck, how many times do I have to repeat that? When I wanted to talk with some Bobcats' fans, I found another forum. On another website. It wasn't that hard.
There's already plenty of places to talk NBA with lots of different people. At BBF there was a wide variety of forums for other teams, it did little to improve the quality. All the people on S2 sure haven't done much to improve quality, tonight's "invasion" being the latest example out of many cases where someone comes in here trying to counter all the "homerism," leading to nothing interesting.

You might get a little less crap.. a bunch from Oregonlive have migrated here.. where we have been trained to not post some stuff like allowed in here lol. But I for one love talking to fans of other teams, and look forward to having good sports conversations with you in the future hopefully.

You'd make quite the research scientist with that kind of attitude.

Let me spell it out for you: you cannot conclude a "type of behavior" from a random sample of 4 events in 4 years. Get it now?

That's good enough for me to be honest. As long as you can back up your opinion I will respect it...

Now I wish I could say that for the rest of the Blazer fans in here, but unfortunately it isn't. I guess you just have to learn to block out the idiots and ignore what they say.

Unfortunately you are probably getting that treatment not only because we have some douchebags ourselves, but because the majority of Laker fans in Oregon are probably some of the biggest assholes you will ever meet; and, right or not that probably leads to several other people being wary of Laker fans.

I personally could care less who people are a fan of as long as they're respectful and want to engage in productive and fun conversation. Even if they are Laker fans.

I am now preparing to be hanged by some fellow Blazer fans for this statement.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.. just because someone is a fan of another team it isnt a problem to me. Last nights game for example.. had a classy Laker couple one row below me, and I conversed with them and appreciated their input. The Jackass to the right of me though yelling "I hope you never walk again Rudy!" is unfortunately 90% of the Laker fans that come to the RG.

    I agree 100%.

I go to OSU, but I am friends with several Duck/Laker fans.

Why am I here? Because it's a public forum. Read that, PUBLIC FORUM. It's not cut off to only Blazer fans. I have just as much right to be in here as your or whoever the fuck else. Just because I'm a Lakers fan doesn't mean I don't have the right to step foot in a Blazers forum.

I'm not missing the point, you just have an agenda and don't want to listen. This site we're on called "Sportstwo" is more than just a Blazer site. The whole point of it is to get sports fans here to talk and debate, not just go to other forums or not join our site at all. I could give a rat's ass about another site called BBF. Having our members go else where to discuss stuff does our site no good. I'm not trying to attack you or anything, just wanted to point out a goal for some mods that are trying to help the site grow. Obviously everyone isn't completely stupid and try to piss people off by saying stupid shit like some people did today.

My dad was a Lakers fan too! I grew up a Lakers fan due to that. Loved the Showtime Lakers. I generally don't bandy that fact about much, but I'm going to sleep, so I can't really be lynched til tomorrow.
