I thought I made it clear. I come here for one reason - to discuss Blazers basketball. The fact that other forms even exist here is totally irrelevant to me. You seem unwilling to accept that. I don't care if S2 is a great sports forum, or not. I don't follow other sports and I don't follow other teams (except when we're playing them or battling with them for play-off position). BNM
This concept you have is obviously failing the community, and the way I'm trying to preach is what was successful in the past. The way you put it, you just care about yourself and it's why society today is so greedy b/c ppl like you only care about themselves.
Re: About my thread Lakers being Suspended Quick - name another NNBA team that has had two players suspended multiple times in the last four years. Can't do it? Then, by definition, the Lakers are more suspension prone than other NBA teams. Asked and answered. What happened five years ago involving players who have long since been traded holds far less relevance than what has happened more recently involving players still on the roster. It really is a simple concept. I don't understand the source of your confusion. BNM
Hey, I was here for the start of the shit this time. Let me say that: 1.) DaRizzle and rocketeer are two of my favorite posters on this site. And I have five Blazer posters on ignore and zero from other forums. 2.) I love debate. I often disagree with the consensus on this forum (although as I am so intelligent, my opinion over time becomes the consensus as I am usually right, yasee?) 3.) I would engage in other forums if they were busier. I posted in Dallas', Houston's, Phoenix's, and the Clippers forums tonight. Maybe if there was a way to ACCURATELY track new posts in those forums, I would engage in them. Maybe there is a way, and I just don't know...because I had a bunch of mods respond to me. Anyways, the "takeover" IMHO started in the Kidd thread when some mods (and not even the trolling Laker ones) got all over KingSpeed for his post. If anyone knew KS and his random and ridiculous overreactions, they would simply ignore that thread or at the very least not engage in a debate over it. Instead, they tried to prove that one half does not equal a career. Ya know, something obvious to everyone. But hey, I went to karaoke tonight and had a few drinks so I'm just rambling here. However, I welcome any and all civil debate on this forum.
what exactly is failing the community? IMO, the Blazer community is getting along just fine. Sure we have the odd squabble, but in general it works well. What success, the Nets fans? The ones who all left? That's not true, I also care about other Blazer fans. Besides, I've already compared myself to a locust, I've never even pretended to be a selfless member of society. I don't see how forums are going to disappear, though. There will always be another place to go and talk sports, forums aren't a scarce resource...
"New posts" link next to the search function. If this is an issue for a lot of people I suppose I could bring it up later with the designer.
Some forums just don't have fans but I'm sure a thread about Kidd would attract attention to the forum but it does get confusing about new posts if you haven't visited a forum in awhile.
Well that problem lies with the admin staff, not other mods, who made the decisions they wanted to. Maybe if we had been as slack as we are with you people they'd still be around.
Not quite, I came from a site called "JustBBall" that was merged into S2. The best forum that was around but the main guys that ran the site couldn't keep it around b/c they had more important things happening in life. Also Nets fans were just as bad as the Blazer forum about the OT threads but at least they changed their ways and were open to suggestions.
see, that attitude right there doesn't do anyone any favors. I know it's probably a flippant comment, but still... We don't need anyone to be "slack" with us. There already are several moderators here, chosen by the community, who do their job admirably, and as a result this is a functioning forum. Other moderators aren't needed. I think it's been fairly clearly established that at least some of us feel absolutely no loyalty to S2, only to fellow Blazer fans. Thus, this Blazer forum is just the current resting place of a group of migrating Blazer fans, and therefore should be independent of any other moderatership. I declare independence. All IMO, of course, I'm sure plenty Blazer fans will disagree, it was just easier to word it with "we." maybe someday we can learn to change our ways to accommodate your own personal preferences. anyway, time for bed, I can't believe I've already wasted so much time debating internet politics....
Fuck Portland moderators. I've had my shit edited three times on these forums... my home team! "Cunt" is not a derogatory word towards women. I am adamant about that.
Listen mods/admins/etc, one of the main reasons why this community migrated here in the first place was because of our OT forum. BBF decided to fuck with it, and it ultimately was one of the reasons why we left. This is a very close group of posters, and we like to discuss many things, including basketball, politics, and porn. I understand your plight, but it makes little difference to the majority here. People come to this forum to discuss things with people they know. New faces are welcome, but mostly we want to talk blazer basketball with familiar faces. Also, if you are a laker fan and you have received ill treatment on this forum, you can blame the ghost of laker fan past for that one. As Blazer fans, we have been conditioned to treat Laker fans like dirt. It's because of places like Oregonlive, ESPN, and now BBF. It's just something about the purple and gold that draws our ire. We have been trolled far too many times, so now it's like waving red in front of a bull. DaRizzle worked for months to earn his place in this community. I apologize if you feel slighted, but that's just the way of the gun.
Huevon, I know you are a basketball fan. You post too much to simply be a Laker fan, so I have a lot of respect for you. There is just a lot of pent up hate towards your team and your fans. You're pretty much the only "rivalry" we have left. The Sonics are gone, so all we have left are the lakers. One of our local stores printed up "Beat LA" shirts for a regular season game, if that tells you anything.
