Kevin has had to create for himself since he's been in the league and with the exception of this year he's done great, maybe he's just sick of losing. He can definitely carry a team, he maybe not score as much as Dirk but he can score in more ways and he's still the more complete player due to his rebounding and defense. Dirk may have improved dramatically this year but that doesn't put him on the same level as someone who is a legitimate DPOY canidate most seasons and IMHO the more versatile defender in the NBA.

KG. He is more of a post threat then Dirk and plays better defense. Dirk can shoot and he has a better offensive game then KG but kG is the better inside scorer, defender, shotblocker and rebounder. It still goes to KG.

[IMG] You bring Lakers into everything.
Carry a team to the 4th quarter and that's about it.
    What aspects are those?
Doesn't Garnett average more points? Also, score in more ways? Have you not watched Dirk play. He can finish with both hands with ease, spin moves, a jump hook, fadeaways, pull up jumpers. A move he's been doing often is getting fouled and putting up a jumper with one hand for the 3pt opportunity. Not bagging KG's offense, but neither score in more ways.

Aspects such as defense, rebounding, just overall play. Is Dirk having a better season then Kevin is? Yes. That doesn't mean Garnett isn't the better player. Offensively, maybe I did favor KG a little unfairly, I'd call it a wash. Kevin has the advantage in all other areas though. That stat that measures how a team does when a certain player is on/off the court (can't remember the name for it) is probably the most important statistic to determine a player's value; and Kevin is always up there with the top 2 or 3, he's usually first.

Their two really different players, Dirk can hang out by the perimiter all night if he wants too, Garnett can't. Then again Garnett is one of the best rebounders in the league and Dirk isn't. I'd take Garnett over Dirk anyday because he plays great defense and is one hell of a rebounder.

How is Dirk not a good rebounder?

Also Dirk's teams never struggled with offense. Even now with Howard and Harris out the mavs are still getting it done. Dirk can carry a team and his scoring average has gone up because of it lately since he has been forced to carry an injury ridden team. Garnett relies on other players making him better on offense since he is not a go to guy which isn't bad but not as much of a threat as Dirk. Garnett would be the perfect role player but shouldn't be your first option on offense. Also until this year, the wolves struggled on defense for the most part. Garnett is a good defender but I wouldn't ever say he is DPOY candidate.

It's not that much different considering the mavs are a much better rebounding team than the wolves. If Garnett had more help on the glass than his rebounding numbers would go down.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rebounding wise....I'd take Garnett over Dirk anyday</div>Agreed, Dirk's weakness is offensive rebounding, probably because of his perimeter game, but he just doesn't snag enough as Garnett does.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>who's better at rebounding, dirk or garnett....that's what i meant</div>Ok I see your point then.

Yeah I'd take Garnett just because I love his defensive toughness and his ability to leap all over the paint and rip rebounds all night long. I'm more of an old school type of basketball fan.Still though, I admit, if it were a matter of scoring I'd take Dirk. He can hit a shot over anyone from anywhere on the court. He's pretty much unstoppable when he gets going.
