Oden nearing return - olive http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2009/03/morning_shootaround_rudy_out_b.html Trail Blazers center Greg Oden, who will miss his 12th consecutive game tonight against Dallas, is starting to see marked improvement in his left knee, which was chipped on Feb. 12 in a collision with Golden State's Corey Maggette. The Blazers training staff was ecstatic with Oden's workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, saying they were by far the best he has had since the injury. "He's getting close,'' a source said. Oden will not play Friday against New Jersey, but the team has already committed to bringing Oden on the upcoming five-game trip, which starts Sunday in Atlanta and continues through Memphis, Indiana, Cleveland and Milwaukee. whats sad is rudy will be back before oden imo.... thats shameful
Good news for the Blazers. Hopefully he can be effective when he comes back and stay away from getting hurt....again.
He should be held out until he feels no pain, IMO, but he needs time on the court to get into shape and shake off rust.
Let him come back slowly... we'll just need his rebounding and post presence for the playoffs, no longer needed to get in to the playoffs.
you must have missed his bolded last line... Anyhow, great to hear that he's improving! l really love reading everyone playing internet Dr. here weighing in with whats the proper rehab schedule for Greg, I'm for following the real Doctors advice what ever that may be and erring on the side of caution. STOMP
Yeah, you're right, I did miss that. I must have trained my eye to ignore anything he posts in bold. Agreed on all points.
Great news! (I was waiting for the no improvement happening, Oden to get surgery and miss rest of season) So this news is almost as good as the Blazers beating the Mavs. Blazers need Oden on the court . . . and Oden needs to be back on the court (when physically ready of course)
Yup, no reason to start him. Joel has been a beast and deserves to keep the starting spot until Oden can work out the kinks.
Well in an article about the injury they said it can take 1-6 weeks to heal, but can rapidly improve in 1-3 days, so I'm guessing this is that time....
I'm gonna go ahead and hold my breath. I'm not saying Oden's a bust. But I am expecting nothing out of him from here on out. Seriously, I don't expect to see him play ever again. This way even him playing in a game is a pleasant surprise.
http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindbla...udy_out_b.html Hey everybody! Mixum had a couple positive posts in this thread. Un-ignore him.
