It has come to light that not only does Rampage have a lingering jaw injury, but he has a busted hand (which didn't come up in the post-fight medical reports). The UFC had a banner for UFC 98 advertising Rampage vs. Rashad as the main event which has been pulled. Evans was quoted as saying he thinks his opponent will be undefeated Brazilian Lyoto Machida instead.

Good for Rampage, honestly. He needs some time off. He should be good to go by the end of the year.

Rampage and Lyoto are my top 2 favorite 205ers, so I'm happy to know that they both will get a title shot this year. I'm happy Machida is getting it first because I (1) don't want to see him wait around and (2) take a fight in the meantime of Rampage and Evans and lose. I think it works out much better for all 3 of these guys to have these fights happen like this.

I agree, this works out great. Machida doesn't have to risk his title shot with a filler fight in the meantime and Rampage can rest up and get ready for his earned title shot.

If anybody can beat Machida, I think its Evans. He has the speed to catch him. Should be an interesting fight. Greg Jackson game planning for Machida.

    Rampage will need jaw surgery.

Machida finally gets his shot! Is the hype real !?
