Well the thing with Blake should've never happened. Apparently grabbing someone's ankle to prevent them from getting the ball isn't a foul.
As long as you have teams that double Roy the whole game, you have to have someone in there that can hit an open outside shot. For now that means Blake. In the future I am confident that it will be Bayless. The guy will spend 20 hours a day if necessary to improve his shot. But for now Blake is the guy. Especially with Rudy out
I thought Sergio looked very good at first, but then when they went to the zone he looked really bad. Blake on the other hand plays more minutes with Roy, and since Roy controls the ball, I don't see a whole lot of assists for whoever the other guard is.
Right now, Blake is our best option and I don't think he played terrible tonight other than that stupid turnover. He hit several clutch 3s. Being at the game tonight, everyone was sort of fed up with Sergio's airballs. Those were pitiful attempts. When Sergio got that steal in the second half and ran to the corner wide open, Blake didn't even look at him. John Townsend, where are you?
Stupid play - but Outlaw was clearly fouled in a breakaway situation and there was no call. We had plenty of opportunities to get over the hump in this one and choked a bunch away.
That's really the bottom line. We got a taste of a team that plays better defense and beat us on the boards.
How was there not a foul called? Everytime you see a player dive after a guy who has the ball and they fall, its a foul..then maybe we'd have 1 more shot to tie the game.
I'm not particularly thrilled with Blake either tonight. But as a counterpoint, and a reminder of our short memories, here's a moment this season when Blake was clutch.
I was always under the impression Blake was an efficient guy, but lately I've seen his D exposed in the games I've watched. Blake was a journeyman for awhile though, think you guys keep him this offseason?
I am not sure if it was his worst, he has had so many crappy games it is hard to tell. I am so sick of his play. Our PG's are going to get eatin alive come playoff time.
