never really tried it myself, i thought it was good and it had some good reviews online. I'm a big fan of the Vietnamese style of coffee/espresso. use gravity/drip filtration..really good shit. There, the coffee drips into the waiting condensed milk. THAT is how you fucking drink coffee.

Indeed. I used to put cream and sugar in my coffee, then it became a bother so I started drinking it black. It took a few cups to get over any bitterness in the taste. Now I can't imagine putting anything in it, because there's so many diverse flavors to the various blends and I can't imagine drowning that out.

    For instant coffee, maybe :)

I grind my own beans and use bottled water. Drip coffee maker though.

Some days IV is the way to go. You know, when I have too much blood in my caffeine system.

I have never had coffee, I'm more a Mt. Dew drinker. Add a little ice, mix in a vivarin, maybe some AMP, pour in a little more sugar and I'm good to go!

Wow, Mt. dew alone makes me jittery. The sugar intake with that drink is insane!

It's a cleaner cup of coffee with less particulate getting into the final product. And because it spends only the required amount of time to saturate the grind (atmospheric pressure makes sure of that), you don't get any bitterness from overextraction. It's especially good for East African and Yemenese beans.

But, to answer your question, yes it really is that good. Science. You just can't beat it.

You can purchase a glass stovetop model or Bodum makes a halfway decent electric vacuum pot.

I put a bunch of creamer in first, then fill it up with coffee, then stir, then enjoy.

I've a Gaggia Classic espresso machine and start each day with a perfect capuchino. I steam the sugar in the milk so it blends and then add the espresso shot. If I'm camping/traveling I take it black. Either way it's a favorite part of the day

    ahhhh :needcoffeee:

I'm thinking of a Mokka express. not sure if its good. like the traditional aspects of it.

I have one of those pod thingys.....its ok. its for coffee not espresso though (nespresso would be nice).

I have a Delonghi Magnifica Espresso Machine and almost have the exact same ritual. On weekends I have to limit how many capuchinos and espresso's I drink because it is so easy to make and taste so good.

I haven't tried adding the sugar to the milk before steaming . . . I would be concerned the steamer may get clogged . . . but I am assuming that hasn't been a problem with you?

I don't drink coffee. I actually don't consume caffeine except if it's in conjunction with alcohol.

When I make mixed drinks, I tend to put the alcohol in first so I can see how much I'm about to consume...

Yes. It's me. On the left.

I prefer to think I look less goofy than this in real life (see: photogenic thread elsewhere on the OT board) and I was, uh, having fun with my, uh, friend. That sometimes leads to me looking goofy. :)

It is a good idea to learn how to drink coffee black.

    Sugar is bad for you.

Milk is bad for you. Yes, really.

Coffee - in moderation - is not bad for you. As a bonus it has antioxidants and may reduce the risk of getting Parkinson's and Diabetes.

    http://men.webmd.com/features/coffee-new-health-food

To find black coffee that is less bitter, buy very fresh beans, grind them yourself just before you make the coffee, use filtered water (chlorine is no good), and use a decent coffee maker. Keep the coffee maker clean. You still have to adjust your taste to it.

Or, if you have big bucks, find a good coffee shop, order your coffee, sip it right there, hand it back if it is bitter. Tell them to try again.
