I think Martel will make a big difference to our 4 starters. Having an extra guy to spread the floor will make it easier on everyone. Batum will be a super sub as eventually he wil be able to play 3 positions. Batum , Rudy, and Travis all coming off the bench will give us depth. Go ahead and start Batum and bring Marty off the bench. I don't care who starts. But don't tell me they need to thin things out to keep everyone happy. This year is a perfect example of how important depth is.

But either way with Webster spreading the floor you have a lot more options with who plays next to BROY in the back court.

It depends on what you call a elite level PG. I don't think we need a elite level PG to go with Roy. Rondo and T.Parker are an example of what I think Bayless can develop into and neither of those guys have great true PG skills but are great PG's IMO and would be a perfect fit if they were a Blazer. Very few PG's come right into the league and have elite PG skills only the true great PG's. Bayless has everything we need attitude, defense and willing to work hard and learn. He will also be a much better shooter then he has shown so far IMO. He was a great outside shooter in college and there is no reason he can't be at least a good shooter in the NBA. I think the teams that have tough defensive players at the most positions will win championships unless you have one of the top 2-3 players in the league. Bayless is going to be a great defensive PG once he gets a chance to play enough and learn.

I can guarantee that we can't win a championship with Blake or Sergio's defense no matter how good their PG skill's are which I don't think is all that great.

IF he could turn into rondo i'd be estatic, but i wonder about his ability to be a creator for others. he's been a scorer all his life, how will he put that aside and work for the betterment of the team.

as for parker, i see him playing a MUCH different role than any of our PGs will play because we have Roy. Parker is asked to create his own shot and work a two man game with Duncan, that is Roy's job.

you see the love that many are giving JJack, but he has thrived as a 2 guard this season, which is his natural position. i see much of the same game in bayless, and it showed in SL, when they moved him over and had Kop run the point.

and for the record i think we could win with sergio or blake as B/U PGs, more so serg. i don't think either of them will ever be elite PGs but sergio brings a court vision that is unmatched by the other two.
