Don't forget about Fin's defense on Jimmy as well. This is getting old though, Stack's on the team to stay. His relationship with AJ is tight and you just have to accept him for who he is.
Well that drives me crazy because both Daniels and Griffin are deserving of the minutes and Stackhouse isn't efficient or good enough defensively and by the way the mavs didn't start giving up that lead till Stackhouse was in the game. The mavs still had a double digit lead but late in the 3rd quarter is when the comeback started with I believe 3 threes from Jim Jackson. Avery shouldn't be showing any favoritism to the players.
Mavs Fan, what do you mean by showing favoritism?Obviously, he loves his roster, but wouldn't his favorite be Dirk?Dirk saves them a lot, lol...Avery is still a young coach, though, so give him time...@ Hm01Well, look at it this way:Tracy McGrady is the MVP of a team that's not making the playoffs (they're ALMOST eliminated right now)
Wagas stop posting here while you are already behind. No coach should have a favorite player on a team. If so they dont deserve to coach in this business. I could gaurentee Avery likes Dirk just as much as someone like Pavel. I know he knows Dirk is the best player on the team , but clearly doesnt make him his most faovrite<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dirk saves them a lot, lol...</div>Mavs have other options besides just Dirk. Plenty of other players have won games for the Mavs, just about every type of player. Someone from Terry(Who has once his a floater to win the game) to Diop(Who blocked Melos shot to win the game)
Lolz, I didn't say that those guys didn't save those other guys.Terry made that floater against Toronto, but it WAS Dirk who had the other straight 8 points.Terry forced double-overtime with that other floater on opening-night against the Sun, but Dirk DID have that 11-consecutive point stretch, eh?That Diop BLOCK WAS AWESOME, though, I loved that a lot.Lolz, calm down, man, we're both Mavs fans, don't hate .I just know that Avery wants Dirk to win MVP, that's what I meant.
Yeah, man, but you ARE a Mavs fan, right? I mean, you got da Josh Howard signature.Anyway, the Rockets just need to try and lose more, and get a good pick.
Well it sounds like when Avery calls Stackhouse the toughest man on the team that is showing favoritism. I obviously think Daniels is a better all around player than Stackhouse. Stackhouse and Van Horn should be the last players coming off the bench since I don't trust them in the playoffs. I just feel that no matter how poorly Stackhouse plays that Avery won't pull the trigger and bench him but hopefully I'm wrong.
Just to let you know, Avery Johnson only has an eight-man rotation in the playoffs. That means we have the regular starters, but how will the three bench players take turns???Jerry StackhouseMarquis DanielsKeith Van HornErick DampierDevin HarrisDarrell Armstrong?Wow, that's tough.
I think others will play though. But it will be tight with 8 players getting the majority of minutes. The 8 I think are :1) Dirk2) Terry3) Howard4) Dampier5) Stackhouse6) Harris7) Van Horn8) DiopMavsfan will not like it but that's how I see it. With Griff, Daniels, Benga, DA getting the call when needed.
Wait, dude, Griffin needs to guard the stars!!1) Dirk Nowitzki2) Jason Terry3) Josh Howard4) DeSagana Diop5) Adrian Griffin6) Jerry Stackhouse7) Devin Harris8) Erick Dampier9) Marquis Daniels10) Keith Van Horn11) Darrell Armstrong (DEPENDS ON GAME SITUATION)That's my list for the importance of each player...
I don't see Griff getting a lot of minutes though. Also, I put Van Horn because he's a big with offense, and it will be needed at times in playoffs.
Yeah, but he IS a defensive specialist, man.BTW, to all you Dirk-playoff haters:-Dirk is 100th all-time in the NBA in playoff points, and would jump to the 64th spot with 300 playoff points this season, and 58th in free throws made all-time, and 100 free throws made in the playoffs this season for Dirk would put him in the Top 40!-Dirk is the Mavericks playoff leader in points, fouls, 4 behind the lead in turnovers, 2 blocks from the lead in total blocks in the playoffs, 11 steals from best in playoff steals, seventh in assists, one in rebounds by over 250+ ahead of 2nd place, 1st in defensive rebonding, 5th in offensive rebounding, 1st in free throws attempted, 1st in free throws made, 2nd in three pointers attempted, 3rd in three pointers made, first in field goals made and attempted, second in minutes, and second in games.

Dude, DO YOU REALIZE HOW GOOD GRIFFIN'S DEFENSE IS!? He shut down Kobe for God's sakes! He's an intangible now!
Yeah but he is a huge liability on offense. It showed against San Antonio. Daniels and Stackhouse are at least threats but Griffin is a step slower on offense.
Griff's didn't shut Kobe down. Also, it was a team effort, not just Griff. His minutes will be down in the playoffs unless needed.
Well, Kobe WAS 5-24. He was what he was, as Parcells would put it if he was a Mavericks coach. Kobe shot 5-24, meaning he was shut down, lol...
