I've already been doing this, and I wanted Utah to lose this morning against the Heat. It seems not only practical, but also necessary from a "make the playoffs first" point of view.

Yeah, not exactly a stretch there, is it? How's this. If the Lakers played Dallas today, I'd want Dallas to lose.

I'm not meaning to hijack this thread, but as I'm watching the waning seconds of this game, I just have to shake my head and say to myself, how in the wide world of sports could the Seattle community let the Sonics get away?!! The folks here are just, well, rabid.

I've signed my big contract and fighting through screens is hard. Pay someone else to fight through screens...I just shoot the ball.

And the Jazz play Orlando tomorrow, they'll be exhausted and it was already a tough game. Big chance tomorrow for the Blazers to build up a bit of a lead. Too bad the game is at 10am... seems unfair, couldn't they at least make game time 3pm EST?

Excellent! What a season this is turning out to be. Even without Oden, we're an elite team.

Wo way are we an elite team. We need to prove we can at least hover around .500 on the road.. and not be like 1-11 on the road vs winning teams. We are a good young team.. but elite? not by a longshot.

I don't think Mixum is being that unreasonable. Celebrating other teams' losses will only get us so far. We still have games to win if you actually think HCA is a realistic expectation.

The goal of this season (and MIXUM's supposed statement of Blazer Worth) is making the playoffs. In following seasons, yes, HCA and winning divisions, conferences, and championships are all expectations. But this year, just getting to the dance is enough. The people who think not getting HCA is a failure are missing the big picture and have convinced themselves of unreasonable expectations.

I guess I never saw it as celebrating other teams' losses, mainly because our wins put us where we are at. :scholar:

I think you can argue that any team leading its division this late in the season is among the NBA's elite.

I think it can be argued that we're elite offensively. It's really defense that seperates this team from the elite. Next year should be a big step in terms of improvement on the defensive end.

Couldn't find any shaving cream, but I did squirt some sticky white stuff into their shoes.
