<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ridnour Unhappy With New Role 21st March, 2006 - 6:41 am The News Tribune - With Earl Watson now on board, Sonics guard Luke Ridnour is frustrated with his role, and is at the point where he is wondering about his future in Seattle, The News Tribune is reporting. With his rookie contract expiring, the Sonics are likely to approach Ridnour this summer to discuss an extension. In light of his recent benchings in favor of Watson, Ridnour said he does not know what he will do when the Sonics place that phone call to his agent. ?It makes you think. I am not going to sit here and say I am not thinking about it,? Ridnour said. ?I have been here and I have been the guy playing and I don?t want to be that guy that started and just doesn?t play, that plays a quarter or two and then is done. (The extension) is something you have to look at, but at the same time you have to look at what is best for your career too.? [READ]</div> Well maybe if you played defense Luke. Their is a reason your not playing as much and it isn't because they like Watson more. [IMG]

Why don't you go back to worshiping Tupac and Dirk and stop correcting my simple error.

Saint Baller, that post was uneccessary, just reply to the damn article. Anyways, I always thought Ridnour was a better pure PG than Watson and better shooter. But I guess that head coach of the Sonics likes Watson to play more becuause he sets up Wilcox with good plays. And the Sonics need an inside presence.

In overall creativity and cleverness, Ridnour beats Watson. However, Watson has fast-break speed and works quickly and effectively when he is able to drive near the hoop. He often gets the ball in close quarters to Wilcox, who has several awesome slams off Watson assists. Because of his speed and ability in fast-paced games, he is cherished by Coach Bob Hill, who has been trying to get the team to play the quick game that's full of layups. This style works for Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, who take an outside shot created by the defense retreating to the inside to stop the quick play. Wilcox and Petro (but especially Wilcox) are really bringing their game inside the key. But Ridnour, he's the type who leads the strategic game using the clock, setting up the play on almost every possession. Ridnour deserves better, but this game Bob Hill has the Sonics playing also has produced their best record in a while too. I expect that Ridnour will be traded, to a team that plays the same game he does. But if this is the price we pay for the Sonics' performances lately against teams like the Lakers, then it's affordable. I do feel bad for Luke though, he's developed incredibly fast as a point guard, I think this is only his third year.BTW: Sorry i haven't been around in a while, i've been sick and busy (horrible combo, as i'm sure several of you know)

^ wow nice post, dude.Well, Watson has been playing very well of late. Around 13 and 8 numbers on over .500 shooting. So if someone's hot and if they play the same position Luke's minutes are gonna go down. if he can't live with it then he shouldn't be in the NBA.

Also Watson is a much better defender and Seattle is desperate for some defense.

id say they both are good defensely. Watson is just tougher though.Watson is a pg i like who plays on the bench like in memphis and do better than the starting pg a lot of times.. Thats what i like. Ridnour just needs to step up even more and watch more nash tapes. he can gain that style with his ability

Why would Luke Ridnour watch Steve Nash's tapes? [IMG]

Well, it was pretty ironic that the next day i read the Times and it says right above box score: "Watson out indefinately" somebody hit him in the throat in a practice. then he plays in the game that night.but in the article, Bob Hill called Ridnour a 'baby' and apparently Ridnour showed up at his door to talk to him about playing time.

Watson has been very good lately. He has been nailing his jumpers and showing some good pg skills. It is all for the team. Sometimes you just have to learn to take a backseat if that is what your team needs. Ridnour is just bitching now. I've lost some respect for him. He has good pg skills but let's face it, he is a terrible scorer.

He just needs to focus on how he does when he plays, not how much he plays.
