Louisville is the #1 overall seed The defending champs are a 3rd seed and get the hardest region AU defied the odds and made it, even though they shouldn't have Taxas A&M makes it despite their break down in the Big XII tournament More to come
MU is a 3rd seed, they get to face Cornell in the first round So far that's three Big XII teams that are in and two brackets to go
I have no idea how Wisconsin managed to get in. That makes two extremely questionable selections, IMO.
It's U of A but how did they defy the odds? They had the best resume out of all the bubble teams and realistically are just as good if not better of a threat than anyone left out. Jordan Hill & C-Bud are 2 lottery talented players & Nic Wise is a very overlooked PG. Considering the coaching change they went through, that shows they have mental toughness, then add those with their wins against Zags, Kansas, Washington, UCLA & Cal, no one left had wins comparable to those. Penn State isn't that great, but I would of put St. Mary's in over Wisconsin. Patty Mills is a real difference maker & that team brought back their whole team from last year's tourney, not to mention they were great when Mills was healthy. Wisconsin didn't do much outside of conference play while St. Mary's tried to at least schedule a tough OOC but all the teams they scheduled were down this year.
No they are not. They finished 19-13, and 9-9 in the Pac 10. They may have beat a few good teams but all their wins were at home. They have no ability to whatsoever to win on the road, in fact they didn't win a single game on the road against a team with an RPI above 100.
Now i did a quick bracket run through. Not even close to my final. And my final four were. Kansas, Memphis, Pitt, Syracuse.
If you have seen Pac-10 play, you would realize how bad Pac-10 refs favor home teams. Arizona should have wins against USC, ASU & UW on the road but the refs killed them in those game, especially the UW & ASU games. But the committee was emphasizing the resumes as a whole like they kept saying, the teams you were naming played absolutely no one outside of conference play, while Arizona was able to beat the Zags and St. Mary's failed 3 times, and were blown out in the latest meeting against Zags with Patty Mills on a neutral court.
Arizona State & Arizona are 2 different teams both in tourney....Arizona State play Temple 1st round. What's your logic behind the upset? Dionte Christmas?
He's actually part of my logic. On paper ASU is the better team, but upsets you don't expect happen in the tourney.
Hmm...I C, I really like them and think they're going to take down Cuse. ASU has 4 3pt shooters on the floor at al times during the whole game and they're just made to destroy zones. Plus James Harden is the 2nd best player in the country, behind Griffin, if you ask me.
Like I said, on paper ASU is by far the better team, but Temple seems like one of those upset special teams.
