Who cares? The Blazers are my #1 love. I do love the Ducks too, but I didn't get to see many of their games anyways due to my work schedule. With that said, FUCK COMCAST!

That is a somewhat valid point, however, OSN didn't have any kind of broadcasting deal with any channel, and had to individually negotiate game-by-game broadcasts with individual stations (ones that were not already carried by ESPN/Fox Sports/Vs./Etc.), so them signing this deal with Comcast almost made sense for them. Anyway, with a new Pac-10 Commish coming in, the TV Network deals for the league will most definately be upgraded so that all games between Pac-10 teams will be televised somewhere... perhaps even on a new Pac-10 Channel, like what the Big-10 has. That only leaves the OOC games, and I think I can live without seeing the Ducks play Utah State or whatever. The big OOC games will definately be televised.

The Blazers, however, signed their fans away when they contracted with a channel that they knew didn't have nearly the market penetration that FSN had, and apparently didn't care, since Comcast was giving them a fatter paycheck. To this day, I don't think the organization cares that their games can't be seen by about 60 percent of the households in Oregon and SW Washington. As long as they are gettin' paid, it's all good by them.

Now that Seattle doesn't have an NBA team, the decision to leave FSN seems even more wrong, as the channel would grow the Blazer brand to encompass the entire Northwest.

Comcast was bought out by Time Warner in my area of LA. Every day, I pray for a quick, excruciating death.

Yeah, too bad we couldn't have gotten Clay Bennett to buy our team instead of the Sonics. That would have made everything so much better.

Kind of ironic, but the only games I don't get up here in the Seattle area are the KGW ones. I like that Comcast is carrying a lot of games.

FSN blacked out almost every game I tried to watch in 2005-06, I had to watch on League Pass. CSNNW doesn't

That's because the Sonics existed back then. Now, Seattle is considered Blazer territory. FSN would have no issue.

CSNNW airs the Trail Blazer games in Seattle.

FSN will be gone in a few years. They dont have the programming to stay afloat for much longer.

I do believe that the Blazers said if there wasn't a deal by the end of this year... they would try to renegotiate or force Comcast somehow. No link... but that is what I recall. Well... it is nearing the end of the 2 years and I bet they do nothing. While I love the Blazers... the front office other than Prichard is weak.

Yes, they should invite another pro team right in their back yard. What do you excpect them to do? I would have done the same thing. Why would they share any revenue or fan base with anyone?
As for Paul Allen, thank your lucky star if you are a blazers fan... We could have Donald Sterling.

    BTW- DreamWork

Totally not true. Think about it, advertisers pay based on ratings/ # of households viewing. The more viewers the higher the ratings which means the Trail Blazers can charge more for the commercials. The Trail Blazers would be fools to not care if a deal was made with the Dish's. The sooner a deal is made the sooner they make more money on advertising and the fan backlash will stop. Comcast also doesnt reach rural Oregon. Once a deal is done that opens up the opportunity for more advertisers who may want to advertise with the TB's. A friend who works for KGW said the Trail Blazer ratings have been huge this season, better than what they've seen in a very long time. He told me that a recent TB game on KGW beat the ratings that American Idol got that same night. That is huge.

I disagree. Outside of the Blazers and the Ducks, Comcast NW has to air frigging Ropp and Big Suke for what, 4 hours a day now? THAT"S riveting TV, isn't it? They may also televise the Portland Beavers, whoopity-doo.

I can't see how Comcast NW is profitable in the Seattle market, at least compared to FSN NW, which is basically the UW/WSU/Mariner channel. Plus, FSN NW has the Pac 10 football and basketball contract.

Then I guess they are fools, since it's been two years of finger pointing and nothing's happened.

I never thought the Comcast freezeout would go on this long. It's really too bad, because for the first time since the early 90's, this is a team worth watching.

CSN has only been on the air a year and a half. You gotta give them a little time to build their programing.

FSN doesnt have the money to out bid CSN when those contracts are up.

FSN doesnt offer anything in HD (at least not on Comcast).

Meanwhile, I get 3x the HD channels on DirecTV, including FSN on multiple channels. Hell, Comcast doesn't even televise Blazer road games in HD.

As for CSN money, they aren't doing nearly as well as you would think they are, and their stock value has been cut in half in just one year. Are you saying that Comcast has more money than FOX? Comcast overbid for the Blazers as it is.

Here in Seattle, I haven't seen one moment of Comcast Sportschannel in HD, in spite of me having Comcast as my cable provider and me paying for the HD package, the Sports Package, and the Extended Package (hehe), or whatever it's called, that lets me get CSN.

Seattle has to be a bigger market, and there's NOTHING on Comcast Sportschannel that has to do with Seattle. All of the ads are even Oregon-targeted. It's like the mirror reflection of FSN.

You mean to tell me you aren't planning your afternoons around watching Portland sports-talk radio on Comcast NW with Isaac Ropp and Big Suke? ;)

It's not Comcast's or KGW's fault the TB road games arent in HD. Blazer Broadcasting only broadcasts a couple of road games in HD.
