Chuck is slowing down and being caught by young and faster fighters who train at better camps. I was glad to hear Chuck went to ATT to do some training. I'd really like to see him go on one last run.
With Liddell's wrestling ability, he can still win fights if he would just mix it in more. I agree with you on the ATT training. I think it was a very smart move. He needs to get away from Hackleman. Hack has taught and trained Liddell to the best of his abilities.
Well Hackleman did go over to ATT as well, I guess the two camps have a friendly relationship. Variety in training is what you need to succeed today and that's what Chuck is trying. He needs to stop living and dying with his hands. He used to be a kick boxer, but you can hardly tell nowadays.
I call bullshit. Chuck has drawing power and a good relationship with the UFC. He has a home for life win, lose or draw.
When he says he doesnt want to see what happened in Chuck's last fight ever again hes saying that for his safety right? it would be a dick move if hes calling out one of his biggest stars and a guy that carried the UFC for the longest time.
Maybe Dana doesn't want Chuck to end up being one of those broken down and pathetic looking fighters 20 years from now, like some of Boxing's fighters have turned out to be. Another devistating KO loss could lead him down that path. Also he probably doesn't want Chuck to become another Ken Shamrock, losing like 6,7 fights in a row to end his career.
You think Chuck has a future in the UFC outside of the octagon? Something to do with the business aspect? I think he was a business major. I could see Dana giving him a big time job once his fighting days are over.
It's possible, or he may open his own gym or co-own with hackleman. who knows. Of course him getting a cushy job with the UFC makes a lot of sense too.
He was an accountant, and for some reason he doesn't seem like the brightest accountant out there. Chuck seems at least when he communicates (he could be smart otherwise), to take a lot of time to answer pretty straightforward questions. While a guy like Randy is wellspoken. I'm not sure what they could really have him do other than be a coach for TUF again. I think the only reason why Chuck vs. Shogun is happening is because after seeing how lackluster Shogun looked vs a 44 year old Coleman. They think that Chuck probably can beat Shogun who still has a big name and is only 27. Otherwise I'm guessing Chuck would lose to other up and comers who are better conditioned and even if one of them can't take down Chuck early, if they can tire out chuck they'll get him down later.
I think Chuck stands to make more money if he leverages his popularity into the a career in showbusiness or some sort of promoter for the UFC. Also he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would be satisfied with being a pencil pusher.
