Affliction will not go gentle into that good night, it seems. With their third show possibly being their last (every show is possibly their last, isn't it?), Affliction is thinking of going out on a high note. Or rather, going out unnoticed. Affliction's next show is scheduled for August and wouldn't you know it, they are thinking about the 11th as a nice date. Except UFC 100--which may become the UFC's biggest pay-per-view event ever--is that night. In the past the UFC has counter-programmed Affliction's PPV's by putting old UFC PPV's on SpikeTV for free. This time it seems Affliction have decided to counter-program themselves by forcing MMA fans to choose between the UFC's huge summer show and Affliction's last whimper on the MMA scene, potentially headlined by a long awaited but long overdue Fedor Emelinanenko vs. Josh Barnett heavyweight tilt. The motivation behind such a maneuver may be to give the UFC one final farewell "fuck you". Otherwise it doesn't make a lick of sense. http://mmamania.com/2009/03/18/affl...-third-mma-event-opposite-ufc-100-on-july-11/
Re: Affliction considering putting third show head-to-head with UFC 100 It is UFC fucking 100. Affliction will fail horribly at trying to cut into UFC sales. The UFC made MMA what it is today in America. With Lesnar/Mir and GSP/Alves on tap plus Hendo/Bisping, there is no way in hell Affliction is going to even hurt UFC sales.
Re: Affliction considering putting third show head-to-head with UFC 100 something tells me tom and the Affliction boys are planning on folding Affliction and starting a different line of clothes..
Re: Affliction considering putting third show head-to-head with UFC 100 In a desperate push to lose as much money as possible as quickly as possible, Affliction is considering putting this show on the same time as UFC 100--on HDNet or another non-premium cable channel.

Atencio claims that nothing is finalized. As we've seen with Affliction in the past, this is probably true.
