Nope, not been but I've worked on a project with some people there for a few months. Very difficult to get things done. The thing about India and other countries is that it is very hard to get them to do things how you want them to get done, which is why outsourcing will never been an absolute. For very mechanical and analytical jobs, its fine, but if you need them to think outside the box, forget it. The amount of handholding is fucking ridiculous. They're so afraid of screwing things up, they purposefully slow progress down.
If you want it to work better, go over there, spend some time with them, get to know them and let them get to know you. barfo
PapaG - Moderators on up can edit the actual text of your posts. Anyone can quote anyone and edit what they quote. As people pointed out here, quoting a post and editing the quoted text is typical and something people generally do on message boards. As long as nobody's editing your original post, it's there for all to see what you really wrote. It would be a very big deal if mods or anyone with editing power (producers, GMs, admins) edit your original post to change the meaning of your words. The extent of our editing is to remove really over the top kinds of personal attacks, and even that is done with the intent to keep the meaning of the post there (aside from any such attacks). The "edit post" button for mods is right next to the "quote post" button and on rare occaision, a mod might edit a post by accident (meaning to quote it) and in every case I've seen, the mod has apologized profusely. In my 8 years of working as staff or running sites like this, I've seen that happen less than 10 times. Editing posts? I've seen that happen on an almost daily basis, it's the staff's intent to keep the proceedings orderly and limit personal attacks. We do have staff only private forums. For the most part, we discuss staff issues. Promotion of members to staff positions, "should this post be edited?" and posts that are reported by members are the vast majority of the types of posts/threads there. You'll find that if you simply ask about something, you'll get a fair answer from us about things like this. That Ed O, Minstrel, and Barfo are Producers means that the Blazers community has representation near the highest levels of the site and have a significant voice and role in its direction. It's both an acknowledgement that these three kick ass at their job, but also that we want you folks to have a big say in how we do things.
You know that is the way it goes with protectionist policies. When you enact them, you usually are on the receiving end of them. So depending on who has to buy what, there might be a net gain, or loss. We would have to do a lot of math to figure that out. I am sure that is what politicians are doing now. Also remember that sometimes policies such as this are enabled in order to gain a negotiating standpoint. The goal might not be as clear as you think. Now as for the Mexican drug lords, they sure wouldn't be making a lot of money on Pot if they would legalize it and tax it here. Take the money out of it, and they will jump out of the business. That would at least hurt them, and raise revenews and businesses here.
link deodorant tarifs? shampoo? toothpaste? mexico needs deodorant. cant they see that they are only hurting themselves? and ball point pen tariffs? do they not enjoy sudoku? curtain rods? there will be a golden age for mexican peeping toms. statuettes and other decorative items? fuck, halmark is most likely now discontinuing their "donkey show" precious memories figurine now.
