There are hundreds of listings still on Craigslist, and I'm now seeing lower bowl tickets for tonight for $65. I'm heading down to the RG in an hour or so; I imagine I'll get tickets for tonight for <$50, lower bowl, no problem. I just called a guy on Craigslist for a ticket in the 200-level at $65 and told him I'd give him $50. He declined, but more people will start to sweat a bit soon.
A win is a win. I don't care how it happens. Funny that Sallie averages 4 points a game and suddenly gets 35 with ten threes. We were watching this at school and I was like having a heart attack. I don't care now, a win is a win.
I went to both and paid <$60 dollars. I was in the first level for the UW game, and I was in the second row of the 3rd level for the night games. It's a buyer's market right now. See you on Saturday.
I was watching the NCAA tourney at home, and they briefly had the RG but then switched it to the Cal/Maryland game. My only pet peave with the NCAA tourney is that you don't have the option to stick to the region that you are in with a specific channel. I wanna see the action in the RG in our zone not necessarily anywhere else. I like our air time! So why don't they give us a second channel to watch our local network?
One thing I've always noticed about NCAA tournament sites is how antispectic they are. Other than one wall mural in the 314 section that has Oden and Frye in a community pose, you can't even tell what city you are in other than the "Portland" on one end of the court and the "Rose Garden" on the other. It's really weird, but then again, the ushers don't even know wth they are doing. They must be hired hands.
So whats the deal with tickets? Do you pay for the whole thing, thurs and sat...each game..or 2 games a "session"? Also, did everyone have to clear out from the arena after each game?
From my understanding theres like a 25-30 min window between each game and thats an usher/guest services issue.
You buy tickets in "sessions" of 2 games. At least for the first round you could buy tickets for the morning two games and the afternoon two. I would think the 2nd round games will be individually and bundled in various packages.
Also, I was there today too. And Western Kentucky has some guys that can flat out shoot the rock. Didn't handle pressure Defense that well, though. Washington looked good all game. Zags looked solid in the second half. After today it looks like Washington will smash Purdue on saturday but the Zags v Hilltoppers game could be interesting depending on which team gets hot at the right time.
I'm not so sure about UW smashing Purdue, the way Purdue won today was how they always win. They never do stuff fancy and blow people out, they just gut it out and they're the type of team that could frustrate UW's inexperience.
Brockman dominated Varnado, didn't he? I was shocked, and Pondexter just looked unreal against the terrible MSU players.
saturday is all one bundle too. i agree that it is weird being in the RG with all of the adverstising covered and that each location looks the same. i kind of like that though, i was talking to someone with UofO and he was complaining that because "they were hosting, we should get to paint the floor green and yellow"...typical duck attitude.
purdue is ok but UW is going to roll them. it might look close on the scoreboard but UW has to many athletes for Purdue to hang with them. the wku/zag game could be interesting but i think GU is much better at closing out on the perimeter. all in all i think the big11 is proving itself to have been a pretty weak conference and not deserving of those 7 bids.
