It's tough to hear all the people on here bash Trav about this and that. I know it's about what you do on the court, but the city is lucky to have such a down to earth genuinely good person representing them. In spite of all the negative influences that surrounded him his first 2 years here! I hope he's with us for years to come. T.O. is a cool ass dude!

He says he wants his name to be mentioned amongst the top 3 in the league? Well then it's obvious why he's such a horrible team player sometimes. He wants to make a name for himself. Even though he has some amazing offensive talent, I just don't think he'll be content with coming off the bench for a loaded Blazer team in the coming years. I believe he's easily an all-star on some .500 East team and I don't blame him for wanting to prove he can be that guy. But sometimes, it kinda makes us worse.

It's a good thing to want to be good, not bad. I think Travis is a pretty cool guy, easy going, friendly. I have even seen some signs near the end of the season here that he is going to show up and play for more than the 4th quarter, which I think is great. But what I would really like to see Travis do, is make the commitment to become a more physical player and round out his game. A guy at his height should way at least 235 pounds. He currently comes in at 206? You have to be kidding me.

Talk is one thing. Taking yourself to the next level of physicality would back it up.

He is like Dennis Dixon physically, his body type was not meant to have that much muscle on it

you know how after the youtube video is done they automatically give you a few others to choose from? One of the first in this case is Batum just after draft day. On it he claims to want to be the best player on the court every time he plays.

    What a selfish dirtbag eh?

I didn't say there was anything wrong with wanting to be great. But Outlaw expresses that want way too much on the court and at the expense of the team. All the circus shots, unnecessary fancy dunks, unwillingness to pass, lack of energy on defense, all point to him being a selfish player looking for his own. Batum doesn't go out of his way to get attention from other teams. He tries to be the best player on the court quietly, and only when it's appropriate. He rarely takes a bad shot, and when he's being guarded well, he'll pass it up instead of shoot a long jumper with a hand in his face with 12 seconds on the clock.

I would love to see Travis on SNL doing skits, especially a scene from the movie "Half-Baked" because he so much looks like Dave Chappelle.

That's the thing about having a team full of generally good people. The ones who get criticized aren't committing crimes off the court or being douches on it. And FWIW Travis has played so much better these last two or three months. When Travis is aggressive and taking it to the hole he can be a really effective player. He needs to continue to do that, continue boxing out and working on defense and on the boards and he'll have a long career in PORTLAND.

He talks about how he wants to be a great player, and then it cuts to something else and he's saying he was frustrated in his first two and probably the lowest point was his third season. He doesn't say top 2 or top 3 good player, he says years 2 and 3 were tough on him.

you're complaining about Travis's dunks!?! Good grief... does he put too much showy spin on his 40% 3 point shot as well?

There is nothing wrong with a person setting their goals high in whatever their profession... thats whats preferred. Travis also accepts his role as scorer off the bench and gives the Blazers great bang for their buck. I'm sure if he was anywhere in the vicinity of the selfish stubborn POS teammate you describe, Nate would never let him on the floor.

At 235 lbs Travis could not do what he does so well.

It's not about height, it's about skeletal type. 206 seems fine for him, I don't see anyone pushing him around or knocking him down.
