http://www.ibabuzz.com/warriors/2009/03/13/crawfords-agent-no-ones-running-nellie/ I still want him gone in the offseason, I doubt he opts out too. Who would take him?
I give Crawford credit for not publicly bitching about it. Then, who needs to bitch when you play 40 mins and go 5 for 17? That guy is one of the worst defensive guards in the league. I swear its the worst I've ever seen. And got to love the way he battles underneath for those rebounds too.
I agree Craw's defense is like tissue paper, so he was not the right guy to get on this team. A smart GM would not have panicked and put AL on the shelf so he would not be a disruption to the team. It was done with the Knicks (Starbury) and Pacers (Tinsley). Yet the Warriors continue to make panic moves ; The way to deal with cancer is not to panic.
I think Crawford is bitchin about things. I can't even play the guy in fantasy ball because, "Jamal Crawford missed his third consecutive game, this one apparently because he's rusty. The Warriors announced before the game that Crawford wanted to practice once (he will do so Saturday) before returning to game action." and ... "Warriors coach Don Nelson wanted Crawford to play on Friday against Philadelphia but Crawford benched himself citing a need for more practice time, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Recommendation: "I haven't played in about a week, so I feel like I need more practice time," said Crawford after Friday's game. The ongoing saga between Crawford and Nelson continues. Nelson benched Crawford for two games earlier this week so he could give more playing time to Marco Belinelli and Anthony Morrow. Nelson has also publicly admitted that he wants Crawford to opt out of his contract this summer and that he essentially isn't part of the team's plans going forward. It is unknown if Crawford will suit up for Sunday's game against New Orleans. " http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3407/news This citing will probably disappear since it's player profile news.
A player benching himself citing the need for more practice time? That's just bizarre. Usually players want to get out there and it's their coaches and medical staff who hold them back.
