He stayed out of it = getting screwed He gets into the middle of it even as a peacemaker = "Allen Iverson arrested for assault" Iverson just got screwed
So was Iverson the only person watching who didnt attempt to stop the attack? No. I assume the body gaurds warned the guy that if he didnt leave they'd whoop his ass.
The bodyguard was employed by Iverson. The bodyguard beat the hell out of a guy, and Iverson did or said nothing to stop his employee from assaulting the guy for not vacating an area that is appears he was already in. Iverson got off easy on this one, IMO. He could have been penalized a lot more than $250k.
Does Iverson own the club? No. So his bodyguard has no right to demand that a guy leave and then beats the hell out of him when he doesn't.
So that gives Iverson's bodyguard the right to assault him. Seems like club security would have that right, but not an employee of Allen Iverson or any other patron.
Sorry, but I'll choose to assume that Iverson by no means was an innocent bystandard to this incident. Maybe that's me stereo typing him, and I'll take the blame for that, but I doubt the bodyguard lays a beat down on the dude without AI provoking it. Either way, when you employ someone in that type of position I think you do hold some of the responsibility for his actions, especially since it seems that Iverson was not in any danger and that sort of force was not done as a life saving measure.
Iverson and his hired assassin should have been sentenced to hard time in prison, IMO, and of course would have been if not for his wealth. What a POS.
Even if the patron passed out with a brain hemorrhage because of Iverson's bodyguard beating him to pieces this would be a more easier case. However, theres a point where Iverson should have told his body guard to cool it and the two of them should have gotten the hell out of there.
Iverson may or may not have provoked the confrontation. I'll give him benefit of the doubt because I don't know. I do know that employers are by law responsible for crimes committed by their employees on the job. If I beat the crap out of a neighbor because his dog shit on my lawn one too many times, that is just on me. If a co-worker or visitor at work irritates me and I beat the crap out of him/her, and my employer does nothing, they can be sued.
A jury found him liable, as they should have based on the facts presented in the article you posted. I'll ASSume that they know more about the case than you do, and I'll frame my opinion accordingly. So keep on ASSuming based on your feelings, and I'll keep on ASSuming based on the actual facts presented about the case, trial, and appellate verdict.
Because he wasnt in the fight. We have no idea how close he was to it. How long it lasted. How dark/crowded it was (maybe he didnt even know), no idea if the patron provoked it (could have been a drunk asshole spitting in the body guards face)....I dont know what AI's role was but you guys just assume he was a big part of it. I think AI is a smarter person than his neck tats show
I was just messin' with ya. LOL on the neck tats comment. It's true--it's like a billboard screaming "I'm an idiot".
