Going to be called One World Trade Center once again. Thoughts? I don't really care...Freedom Tower sounded teh ghey. One World Trade Center is bad too because it brings back the 9/11 attacks in memory.
I think it should be called "The Last Train to Clarksville", we'll have it be all fun and shit. It'll be great!
My opinion, they should just refer to it by the street address, e.g. 57 West Street or whatever. You don't want it to be any more of a magnet for further attacks than it already is. That's the one building in the USA where I wouldn't lease office space because of the risk of terrorist attacks. Although I'm sure it will get a lot of attention from the security agencies. barfo
Yeah I'm sure it will be the safest non-government building in the world to be in but I would never want to enter it. Too much of a target and it really sticks out down at the far end of Manhattan.
They should have put both towers back up in exactly the same spot, just like before, only a little higher. It would have served nicely as an extended middle finger to the terrorists.
We're losing our freedom and becoming more dependent on our government, so losing the "Freedom Tower" seems logical. Plus, I'm guessing within a year we'll be negotiating with AQ and the Taliban, so the "Freedom Tower" name would also be embarrassing.
Beyond being embarrassing, I'm sure Al-Qaeda and/or the Taliban will want to name it themselves. So what's the point of such a temporary name?
I agree with you, in that I don't care what they call it either. I care more about who actually demolished the towers, and how that event has been used to manipulate the public.
Please elaborate. Did you lose co-workers who had to jump off of a Tower? How has their death been used to "manipulate" the public?
You're right. We should make friends with them, invite them over for Sunday dinner, let them plant bombs in our large buildings, etc. Yeah, that's the ticket! We all just need to "get along" and then the terrorists will be able to destroy us much more easily.
