http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/or...f/2009/03/outlaw_has_seen_it_all_as_a_bl.html Its really amazing how things turned around. I remember watching games in 2004, 2005 thinking it was gonna be a looong time before we saw playoffs. A long time. I can only imagine how outlaw feels after playing on some of those god awful teams. We were the kings 5 years ago. Not much talent and in need of a lucky break, ping pong wise. Watching the game vs the grizz last night, it was kinda nice knowing we were gonna win in the 1st qtr. Having that feeling that we are are the playoff team. I mean the grizz were the ones who wer ethinking, "this team is gonna whip our asses." I remember how that felt as a blazer fan. How many times over teh last 5 years did we watch games vs top teams knowing it was gonna basically be a practice for the other team/layup drill? Anyway it feels pretty special to make the playoffs after the suffering we all have went through. As ive always said, the first time i saw Roy play seattle... i knew that we had something special.
KP has built this team in a very good manner. Sure glad he hasn't been quick with the trade finger! His patience has been a virtue.......thus far. Me thinks he still needs to lose Frye, though. Even though I've fought for, and supported, him here, I was also one who thought he wouldn't be a good fit in Portland when KP traded for him.
frye and sergio. did you see roys face in the 4th qtr after a sergio turnover? Watch the game again if you didnt... it was like "man that guy sucks" roy is not a sergio fan. id bet my life.
So, after half a season of telling all us Koolaid drinking morons that the team wouldn't make the playoffs, you FINALLY realize the 'morons' are smarter than you? What does that make you? A less-on? No. What you've always said is....this team sucks without a trade. Oh well, that's almost like saying we have something special. Whatever.
I think the less-on here is that sometimes it's nice to be pleasantly surprised. Welcome to the ranks of the optimistic Blazer fans, MIX! The Kool-Aid is right over there behind the cocktail wieners.
listen IF we win a playoff series... thats quite an accomplishment. with taht said... make no mistake.. until sergio and frye are gone.. this team isnt a contender. without a doubt we need to upgrade PG and backup PF. Although outlaw might be our bets bet. PG play is the biggest concern. see andre miller on monday. why do you think dallas owns us?
So all we have to do is waive Sergio and Frye? sweet! I knew those freeloaders would be the death of Blazermania, and this proves it!
most would say that with a roster as young as this, just making the playoffs is quite an accomplishment. But we all define success in our own way. those guys are scrubs who likely won't see more then 5-10 minutes a game come the playoffs... every team has scrubs but few enjoy the sort of depth that Portland does. Just the improvement that typically happens with guys as they get further into their 20's should elevate this club a contender. How many backup PFs are hands down better then Travis? Portland has the tremendous luxury of having two quality 5's who both do solid jobs on the boards and defending low post players, so having another perimeter/wing on the floor with them works in almost all situations. As for PG, why not just add Andre himself via Free Agency? They'll have the space to make him a solid offer and he's from the West coast... Miller or not, I also think that PG is the most likely spot to be addressed this offseason... I would think thats the consensus opinion too. With history as my guide, here's guessing KP doesn't stand pat. STOMP
id LOVE andre miller here... exactly what we need. couldnt be a better fit. has the attitude that fits this team.
