Who would you take Gilbert this year or Jason Kidd 2-3 years back,I'd personally take Kidd,he would almost average a triple double and he wasn't worried about the glory or fame.

I'd still take Kidd over Arenas any year. Arenas is mainly a scorer. Kidd can play great d, pass, rebound, and make a shot. Also, Kidd makes players around him better.

I'd take Kidd if we are talking about who is the better pg. He is probably the smartest player in the NBA. He is definately the better passer then kidd and he is great at generating offenses.

This is a bad comparison...everyone would rather have the NBA's best PG over a high scoring guard who leads his team nowhere.

Look who Kidd had around him in 03...K-Mart,Zo, and RJ and look who Arenas had around him last year Hughes and Jamison who do you think had the better surroundings? Surroundings mean alot to 1 person's play if you have good surroundings your going to do better

You can't use that against Kidd, when good players on his team have been hurt he takes on the scoring load and keeps on tredding. I remember a few years ago when the team was hurt he was putting up 20ppg regularly in the playoffs and in 2002 he put up 18.7ppg.

I'd take Kidd over Nash anyday. IMO just as good of a passer, but he is a much better defender, rebounder, and scoring Steve might have slight advantage. As for this comparison, Kidd. Gilbert is a good scorer, that's it.

Playing good defense doesn't matter that much at pg. The pg's job is to run a team's offense. If a pg like Nash is having trouble playing defense on someone, just come over and help him out no big deal.Nash is a better passer then Kidd. Don't even question this. He is the best in the League at setting up his teammates. He is the much better scorer. Much better shot and he can go hard to the rim. Kidd is declioning becuse of his age and has had a pretty poor year. Nash is runnin gthe break well. Kidd is averaging a dismal 7.6 considereing his standards. Nash was running the best offense in the League. He has the ability to make his players better. He even made Pat Burke look good lol. If Nash had Carter an Jefferson they would be running the show in the NBA no doubt. Playing a fast break game. Nash can generate offense out of any squad in the NBA.The fact is the pg is supposed to create offense. Nash has been doing that better the Kidd has.

That's ridiculous. Nash is not a much better passer than Kidd, they're on the exact same level. Nash is a better scorer yes, but he's a defensive liability which is why I would give the edge to Kidd. How is 7.6 APG dismal? I didn't see Nash putting up numbers much higher than that when he was playing for the loaded Mavs. There was plenty of people to pass to there.

Wow, you can play good defense. Who cares at pg? More then half of the pg's in the League aren't good defenders. If someone is having trouble with a man, just bring someone else over to helphim out. 7.6 apg is dismal compared to Kidd's standards. That is well below his average. He is slowing down, Nash is the much better passer I would say. He creates offense alot more effectively then Kidd and he can run the run and gun offense to perfection. That is because Nash has obviously improved as a pg.

Jason Kidd and Steve Nash are both awesome passers but to say Nash is better is just wrong. Kidd doesn't get on SportsCenter as much anymore but the guy is amazing with the ball and he hits players like the ball is following a laser. Playing good defense doesn't matter at PG? Are you serous? Saying good defense doesn't matter for any position doesn't make any sense. Yes a PG runs the team but that doesn't mean he can be a bad defender and it doesn't matter. Watching T.J. Ford every night, I see why his poor defense can lose us games. Turnovers per game Kidd 2.3 Nash 3.6

And it's important that a pg play some defense with the new rules allowing pg's to run amok down the lane with ease, ie Parker's emergence this year with other pgs.To have a pg who can d up those pgs is a luxury. And your overrating Nash big time by saying he runs the offense to perfection.

Nash does create alot more then Kidd. Nash's apg have been quite a bit higher then Kidd's. he runs the show in Phoenix. Kidd has Carter and Jefferson to work with yet, Nash has been leading his Suns to the better record out of the two.Yes, kidd is the better defender, but Nash is the better offensive player as scoring and passing. And for a pg offense>defense because the pg's main job is to run the offense, not play stellar defense.
