Re: Shaq: Portland Isn't Missing Anything

I think this is from last week after we beat Phoenix.

As an aside ... anyone know if Phoenix misses the playoffs this year if it will be the first time in Shaq's career that he has missed the playoffs? Pretty sure his Orlando teams were solid enough to get there, and I know they played the Bulls in the Finals one year. And we [unfortunately] know the Lakers were a playoff team for many years with Shaq and Kobe. And Miami won a title with Shaq. And Phoenix was a playoff team last year.

I'm too lazy to look it up. Anyone?

In my professional life, I pay people to look things up for me. This forum shouldn't be any different. Except that I won't pay you.

    Re: Roy = Laker fan

B-Roy was a Husky, but I've forgotten about that too.

He's a Blazer now, and that's all that matters.

Great article, thanks for sharing. Repped.

Shaq missed the play-offs his rookie year when the Magic went 41-41. They then won the lottery for the 2nd straight year and traded the top pick (Chris Webber) to the Warriors for the 3rd pick (Anfernee Hardaway) and three futute 1st round picks.

Shaq never played the Bulls in the NBA finals. The Magic and Bulls are in the same conference. During his 3rd season, the Magic beat the Bulls in the 2nd round and eventually reached the NBA finals where they were swept by the Hpuston Rockets, with Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. The following season, 1995-96 the Magic won 60 games, but were swept by the Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals. After that season, he was signed by the Lakers as a free agent.

Well, we know that Roy had learning disabilities.

I guess he overcame them with respect to the Lakers.

I understand that reading comprehension isn't exactly your forte, but the operative word here is obviously "was." Brandon Roy has LONG been cleansed of any prior and/or possible piss-and-purple stench.

I suppose it doesn't hurt to have pipe dreams... but it ain't gonna help either.

    Keep dreamin'!

So Roy is going to join the Suns? Doubtful. I think he's just a fan and friend of Shaq.
