I have been saying this for years that one of the reasons the game isn't followed as much is because their are so many games and the dates are all over the place. So fans can have trouble keeping up with everything. What do you think the season should be set at?
I feel that the season should end in April (playoffs and finals included), and begin in mid-October. I feel that after the first round of the playoffs, NBA is just too overwhelming and feels too dragged out. Maybe rearrange the playoff format to make things more exciting at end.
I think the regular season is fine. But I think they need to revisit the first round of the playoffs. Since they changed it to the best-of-seven format in the first round (from the best-of-five), the first round just seems too dragged out and just feels like an unnecessary extension of the regular season.
I think teams should have a game every 3 days and there should be about 60 games played. The players get tired down the stretch so they can't put everything into the playoffs. I think there should be like a 1 week break before the playoffs start.
Three days between games is too long, and players will more than likely agree. I think two days between games should be the max if they reduce the length of the season, otherwise the current setup is fine with me.
50 regular season games Games played on only specific days during the week. (Mon, Weds, Sat) for example. Round one 5 games Round two 5 games The rest 7 games The NBA wants to make more money so thats why they make the playoff series longer.
Players would agree that they would like to play more? No. You always here them complaining about 7 game series' in the playoffs. I'm sure they feel the same way about the NBA schedule. 2 games max would increase the games. That's the last thing the players need.
What I meant was that I don't think they would really like having three days between games. The idea would be appealling for them, but once they start playing, I think they'd much rather get back on the floor in two days rather than three.Sorry, I can't really find the right way to explain what I'm trying to say... lol, but it makes sense to me in my head, but I just can't find the right way to explain it.
They would have more rest or more time to prepare for games, why wouldn't they like the 3 day break. They do enjoy getting out there and playing but 1 more day of rest would probably appeal to them.
The extra day of rest is appealling, but I know I wouldn't like that as a player or as a fan. That is essentially saying they will play only two games a week... which is not enough. Two games between games makes more sense...But, it doesn't really matter, because with Stern as the commissioner, he wants his product out there as much as possible. He would probably love to extend the season, so that his league gets more publicity, and the NBA gets more money.
