Nice for anyone on the Warriors to be recognized by someone outside of the BA. This kid is pretty special. I like the Odom/Smith with 10 redbulls comparison. I wouldn't say his handle is as good as Lamar's but its well above average for a 19 y/o 6'10 kid and certainly has the potential to get there. Anyway he handles and rebounds like Odom. Makes the exciting highlight reel dunks/blocks like a Josh Smith. The 10 redbulls thing seems to be a product of Nellie because I didn't see that early in the season. Its always been apparent that he HATES to lose so I think hes got more competitive fire than Odom and Smith combined. This kid could be really, really good. His scoring via the post or dribble penetration is still very raw but he shows flashes. The jumper has already made great strides during the course of the season. His passing is pretty crappy. I actually do like some of the passes he tries to make, he just doesn't recognize them fast enough and his actual execution on the pass blows. Speaking of his handles though, check out this vid:
I know what you're saying but I think what he means is that Kawakami is the only one really calling anyone out on the mess. That's not exactly true of course, if you live in the Bay Area you know that Steinmetz, Poole, Marcus Thompson, and others have written articles critical of Nelson and management, but Kawakami is the loudest and most consistent critic.
>>There hasn't been nearly enough made of how screwed up the Warriors are right now. Their front office and ownership situation is a world-class mess. Their coach has been in "I'm Keith Hernandez" Mode since the 2007 Dallas upset and looks like he's actively trying to get fired.<< LOL. I get it. It's because SG and TK are Nelson bashers, too. Long live Tim Kamikazi. Nyuk. Nyuk.
It's pretty amazing what this kid has accomplished in his short stint in the NBA. I think his psychological progress has been greater than his physical. At first I thought the kid was just a punk, but he's really grown on me as a mature (for 19) kid who wants to be the best at what he does. This one might be better:
Holy shit.... Tyrus Thomas must have nightmares about Anthony Randolph after that block. Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a block like that before.
How is it that Randolph does not play the 4th or OT of an April game against the Kings? 17 and 10 in 19 mins. Typical deranged Nellie.
It may just be typical Nellie with rookies, but I have noticed that Nelson also tends to be gun shy about bringing players in foul trouble back late in the game. It's like he gets fined $100 every time a player fouls out or something. I can remember several, if not many, games where Biedrins picked up 3 or 4 early fouls but then was either brought back very late in the game (with the Warriors that usually means too late), or not at all.
He would always play Baron even if he had two in the first quarter. He's done the same for Jackson. I guess he just trusts his veterans more.
He got his 4th and 5th fouls within 10 seconds of each other. And at this point, they're only 2 games behind the Knicks in the loss column. 7 guys in uniform. Can they possibly try to lose more than they are right now? Even with it, they're on a 3 game winning streak... On a related note, how terrible are the Kings right now?
