Okay not predicting anything, but ASSUMING all goes according to plan, I think this team is obviously the best in the west, and with HCA, I don't see anything stopping us from advancing to the Finals. With that being said, just wanted to hear your guy's opinions on the ideal lineup you want to use in our postseason run? If Bynum's return goes well, he should at least have a couple of games left in the regular season to knock some rust off. I believe that by the time WCF starts, he should at least be somewhat in shape and be caught up with the flow of the game. That being said, as he plays his way back into shape, this is the starting lineup I want to take us deep in the postseason: PG: Fisher SG: Kobe SF: Luke PF: Gasol C: Drew Pretty much the same lineup we had coming into the season, before Drew went down. With that lineup, you have Luke and Kobe who can get the ball in the post to Drew/Pau (yes Luke), and have Lamar and Trevor coming off the bench. With those two off the bench to help along with Jordan (I'd replace him with Shannon) and Sasha, our bench problems will easily be solved. Yes easily. I know initially this probably will not happen, as Drew will probably come off the bench, but when it's all said and done, I want that lineup, posted above, leading us in the postseason.
Maybe Odom is enough for the bench to get back on track? I'd like to keep a few facilitators on our bench since Luke has been doing better lately. I don't think we necessarily need Trev back on the bench; at least this is my opinion right now.
Well if we want to kind of Phase out Farmar, Luke's passing should help the bench. He's been on sort of a hot streak recently too, IIRC.
You all can't be serious about replacing Farmar with Shannon Brown? He hasnt shown me anything or given me any reason to trust him. He caan't even get the timeline without turning the ball over. His nerves show badly in regular season games. Who knows how he's gonna respond when D. Will or Parker are pressuring him up the court.
Well that's the problem. We all know how Jordan will respond, he was destroyed last year in the playoffs matching up with D Will. At least Shannon is somewhat known as solid defensively. Sure, he lacks offensively, but what has Farmar done this year on offense? Absolutely nothing. He is also complete garbage on the defensive end. Basically, we all know Jordan Farmar sucks. But we don't know much about Shannon Brown, except that when he does get minutes, he doesn't look half as bad. I'd rather give Shannon a try. Even if he does end up sucking, he won't be much of a downgrade from Farmar.
The lineup we had to start the season would be the best bet (Fish - Kobe - Walton - Pau - Bynum with Farmar, Sasha, Ariza, Odom, Powell or Mbenga off the bench or to start the 2nd)), as well as the rotation for that matter. But Phil should try to incorporate either Brown or Morrison slowly...
I just had an idea about our backups before Drew comes back. I don't like that Farm/Sasha/Powell/Pau line up too much. It needs some tweaking obviously. I think maybe Powell needs to sit out more. Try Pau at PF when he's with the second unit, and give DJ Powell's minutes since Josh is in a slump. We'd have some shot blocking and energy this way, like what Ronny used to give us. Swap Trev/Luke as you wish. Trev on the bench is a decent idea since he can play the two and Sasha can just sit back and launch threes from the 3. If we tell Farmar to reduce his shooting and defer more, I think we can do well with the bench too.
