Looks like it will happen. Bit of a problem. I live out of area, I have DirecTV NBA League Pass. So I get the games but road games are usually the home team's broadcast, not Mike & Mike, and as soon as the game ends the broadcast ends. So.... We can't say for sure when Portland will clinch. But if someone could DVD Mike & Mike calling the game, along with postgame interviews/locker room celebration, etc. it would be worth something to me. Thanks.
I think we have a solid chance of winning either the Houston or San Antonio games. The Rockets have lost three of their last four, and the Spurs have just looked old lately and will be coming off a back-to-back against OKC who always gives them problems. The way we're playing, I have a good feeling about it.
i wouldn't be expecting much of a celebration from the players. i think it was joel that they interviewed yesterday and he basically played down the clinching as something they've expected for a few weeks now.
No.. Joel is the one who said he will celebrate and may even ask for a day off when they clinch, and said something like how some of the others may not realize how big it is.
I do not like Rockets game lately. They have not looked good in their play. I believe that the Blazers will win this game. Maybe not by 20 but can and should win. I think it is more difficult with S.A. as it is a back to back. However if we can put the Giz away early we can rest out starters and it could be a squeeker win for us. Here is hoping.
I like how Portland matches up with Houston. I think Oden is a big key for that game, someone who can challenge Yao physically on both ends (Przybilla really being just a defensive presence). Yao is of course much better at this point in time, but Oden is a tough player to handle even for someone of Yao's ability. If Oden (and Przybilla) can mitigate Yao's impact, Portland will have a great chance.
If the Blazers as a team show the dedication to defense that they have recently shown, they are likely to win IMO. The Rockets just did not look good the last couple of games.
It looks like the celebration and talk of clinching a playoff berth will happen at the start of the game, not the end.
Lets hope not. I don't want the team losing focus on the task at hand - beating Houston and getting HCA. It's been obvious for a couple weeks, even to the doubters, haters, debbie downers, dickheads, dweebs and other members of national media, that the Blazers were going to make the play-offs. Clinching was a mere formality. The team has bigger fish to fry. BNM
I know, that's what I'm saying.. the celebration if any/talk about it will be on KGW today for sure at this point
There will be no celebration. It's business as usual, because this group of kids (and that's what they are, kids... second youngest team in the NBA) has loftier goals. Which is astonishing.
