That's a rather lame way to end that match.

I just started watching once you linked it. It seemed like a run of the mill Raw match. (at least, what I saw) Although I did hear that the Michaels Undertaker match was worth the cost alone.

My connection isn't fast enough but I've heard of people who are watching it that the 'Taker/Shawn Michaels watch was amazing.

It sucks that Steve Austin wasn't able to have a long career.

The Taker/Michaels match was out of this world. Michaels kicked out of every finisher Taker hit him with - the choke slam twice, the Last Ride, a tombstone. Taker kicked out of everything Michaels did to him. Those two got the crowd into it by making the falls so close - literally at least on three finisher kick-outs the refs hand was just an inch or two from the mat. They both took great bumps and the match was nice and long (not boring at all). Easily the best match of the night.

MITB had so much potential even with Henry in it and instead we get about a fifteen minute MITB match when Punk repeating as winner followed by a fifteen minute Kid Rock music program. I was very disappointed in it. With Christian, Benjamin, Kofi and MVP in the match it should have gone on at least another ten minutes with those guys hitting spots and I would have preferred if Benjamin finally won it or MVP did.

The Cena/Edge/Show match was predictable in its ending and basically the entire match - really wish Edge would have retained. Only good thing about the Legends/Jericho match was that Steamboat still has the moves in him even at his age. The Rourke bit was ridiculous just from his apparent snakeskin cowboy boots.

He could probably still go but he'd be so hit up on pain killers and getting new parts of his neck fused (are there even any vertebrae he hasn't had fused in his neck?) every year. This is why I do not begrudge Dwayne Johnson for getting out in his early 30s. As a third generation star he knew what was to come after so many years of bumps and getting his in into Hollywood was a wise move. He and Austin gave us six great years of feuds, matches and amazing promos and I'll forever be grateful for that.

Especially when you look at the overall crapshoot that the writing, promos and matches are these days.

Very true. I meant it purely in a selfish manner. Austin and Rock were the best reason why WWF/WWE was watchable 10 or so years ago.

I'd be willing to buy a DVD of the best of both of those guys.

Oh I know. I'd give anything to have Rock come back and just beat the shit out of Cena in wrestling technique and promos for one night. It would be so satisfying.

Rock really is the greatest I've ever seen as a combination of mic skills, taking bumps, hitting his spots, and getting all the moves down. Jericho is pretty damn good too but doesn't get enough respect from Vince because of his height. Orton has amazing in-ring skill and his mic work is coming along but I don't think he'll ever be able to switch between being a heel and a face like Rock could do.

Austin had his slipups in the ring sometimes but his mic work was also fantastic. He just knew how to work that crowd.

I just wish talents like MVP and Benjamin would get some test title runs considerations instead of Jeff Hardy just because he gets all the women in the crowd to squeal.

Edit: Totally forgot about Edge. Edge was good as a comedic heel but his work over the last several years has been amazing. He's great on the mic and in the ring in both maneuvers and ring-psychology. One of the top-notch serious heels in the last twenty years IMO.
