If we win out minus a loss at the Spurs, we can still overtake houston. we are only tied in the loss column with houston. They have a tough stretch and if we can get them to lose 2 times, booya, HCA!

At this point, we might end up playing San Antonio if they keep losing.

    Wednesday's Game Is HUGE!!!

It might very well determine if the Blazers get HCA in the 1st Round....against the Spurs.

After tonight's loss, I'm thinking the Blazers won't catch the Rockets. They're now a full game behind the Spurs, but a win against them on Wednesday (BTW, the "older" Spurs play in OKC on Tuesday) could very well put the Blazers in 4th and Spurs in 5th. In this scenario, the Blazers would hold the tie-breaker. The Rockets would move to 4th.

Ya never know this early, but it's certainly plausible.

Maybe, maybe not. I want Houston. HCA or not. Partly because I want the other teams less, but partly because I think the Blazers learn each time they play them and we are do. I don't think they can beat us now in Portland. Plus it only takes one little sprained ankle or bad back for Yao to sit.

Hopefully the spirit of TMac lives on for the Rockets. Doesn't give them much hope in the 1st round :)

I'd rather play SA than Houston. At least, the Spurs don't have anyone that can take Roy out of his game.

    Re: Wednesday's Game Is HUGE!!!

This game against the Rockets was huge, but the game against SA is our last realistic chance to get home court in the playoffs. We will lose the tie-breaker to every, unless we beat SA.

It'll probably be Houston, Denver or SA in the playoffs for us. It's kinda funny, because even if we hold on to the 5th spot, there's no telling who we're going to play...so it's like, is there a real advantage to jockying going on between the 7th-5th teams?

It's a good point and I was thinking similar thoughts as I typed , because a Yao/Artest duo is a bad combo for Roy's ability to get to the basket. But in the long run Duncan/Bowen is not a whole lot better, plus you would have the Parker factor. Not to mention Pop's ability to sway the refs.

I will take Houston over SA.

Wednesday's game is huge, but not if we don't win Tuesday. They have to play it like it is game 7.
