I think when the term "Jump Shooting Team" is used they actually mean a team where the ball rarely gets into the paint. In the case of Orlando, they play inside out by dumping the ball down low to Howard on a huge percentage of their possessions. In the case of Cleveland, they attack the rim and kick out for shots. I will admit that I have watched Orlando and Cleveland about as much as Barkley has watched Portland, so I may be incorrect in these examples.

I am not saying that Portland is currently a Jump Shooting Team. They HAVE played that way at times. There are many possessions where the ball just moves around the perimeter until someone jacks something up. Lately they have been more aggressive about getting into the paint. The more they manage that, the more success they will have.
