Once the coaching staff help teach Greg how to play without fouling (and the damn refs learn to not call BS fouls on him), we're going to be scary. SCARY.
craigehlo is waay off. Bottom line is it wasn't for Nate keeping this young team on track through the ups and downs we would not be in the middle of this playoff race. .
if that's all you can say about what adelman's done this year with the rockets, you haven't been paying enough attention. nate is a decent candidate for coach of the year(definitely in the top 10, probably top 5) but it's not like the blazers weren't going to be better this year. the stars are entering their 3rd years and the team added a ton of talent to the roster from last year to this year(4 first round picks).
Do you have any idea how many close games we have won? How many times we've been down and out but Nate kept us in it and on track!? We crushed the Eastern conference as a whole despite having tough road schedules and we've had more comebacks from large deficits than anyone! Yes Roy is an Allstar and has strong chemistry with his supporting cast but none of it would come together for 50 wins without coach Nate Mcmillian at the helm. Bottom Line. . Coach of the Year. .
yes, i absolutely have an idea about all of those things. and it is a very legitimate question to ask if it's more roy's doing than nate's. like i said, nate is without a doubt a top 10 coach of the year candidate and probably a top 5 one. but i can't put what he's done over what adelman has done.
Good for you. . Repeating the same thing you've said before. Therefore I'll follow your lead. . Nate is the Coach of the year, I don't care what anyone thinks!
you presented things to me as if they were "new" and that i did not know them. i was just letting you know that i did in fact know all of them but my opinion on coach of the year is the same.
It's fine to say you aren't sold on Nate, but there is no question in my mind you are selling him short on what has been a historic performance out of an insanely young roster. Winning with 3 rooks in the regular rotation and a pair of third year leaders just isn't done. Name me one (available) coach who could have gotten this team to fifty+
Our record is a collaboration of efforts. Roy, LMA, Joel, Nate, Travis, etc. It's not all Roy or all Nate. But Nate is the guy in charge. All of this happened under his watch. I give him a lot of credit for keeping this team on the right track over the last three seasons.
For as annoying as mediocre man was about how shitty of a coach he thinks Nate is, as the season progresses we see less and less of him.
Mike Brown, Stan Van Gundy, Nate McMillan and Rick Adelman are PROBABLY the 4 coaches in this race, imo. With Denver, I think it has much more to do with Chauncey than George Karl.
Some of it does. But George Karl is doing a lot more coaching than he had done in years past with Iverson there. So in a way, Chauncey coming over allowed George Karl to once again coach as he is used to coaching again. So in a way, they both are enablers.
Nate's done a superb job, and has the respect of a team led by 23- and 24-year-olds. Probably not an easy thing to do in this league. We don't have a lot of egos, the players genuinely seem to like each other and all they want to do is win. He deserves the credit when credit is due.
It is possible the players have started doing the things Nate has been asking them to do all year. I remember seeing a clip where he was imploring the team to attack the rim instead of settling for jumpers. Maybe they all finally decided to take what Nate wanted to heart. Nate has done an excellent job this year, but there is no chance he will win COY. That will go to either the coach of the Cleveland LeBrons or the Miami Wades.
