Sounds good to me. If we get the 4th seed we've got a great chance of getting out of the first round. 5th seed, not so much. Especially if Houston is 4th.

Houston has a road B2B tonight and tomorrow at Sacto and Golden State. Also, their final game is in Dallas, who may need that win for seeding. Houston winning out is not at all guaranteed. The 3 seed is still within reach.

root for houston every night and for the spurs to lose

blazers will win vs okc and clippers. if we can get by the lakers or denver....

we will be the 4th seed. spurs will lose at least 1 more

Why root for Houston? Why not root against both of them?

I don't fear Houston. I don't know why, but I think we would win a series with them, even if we were on the road.

Mostly, I don't fear anyone. I think the Blazers have as much talent as anyone in the league.

Sure why not; the third seed would be great. But failing that I'd love to see the Spurs implode in the next 4 games and get matched up against them in the first round with homecourt advantage.

I agree, but I do worry about our inconsistency. Why, for example, did we fall so far behind against Memphis and San Antonio? That's a disturbing trend that's got to change. We've got to play hard for 48 minutes, not just when we're behind. Otherwise, somebody is going to squash us in the playoffs.

We'd have to drop down to the 6th seed to avoid playing the Lakers in the 2nd round. That would mean we'd probably need to get by the Rockets and the Thuggets to get to the WCF. Certainly do-able. Really, anything is possible. I think Portland has established that they deserve to be where they are, right in the ranks of the best teams in the West.

Getting the 2nd or 3rd seed would do it as well.

We'd have to beat Denver for that to happen, meaning Denver would have to lose at home to Sacramento on Monday. What are Sacramento's chances, 1%?

It's sad, but we will end up losing the tie breaker to Denver by ONE division game.

Not having the 2nd game in Portland has really thrown people for a loop on how well we'd do against Houston.

The Kings would have to beat the Nuggets for us to get the 2nd seed, but we can get the 3rd seed if both the Spurs and Rockeds lost at least one game each. Both have tought games left I'm pretty sure, so I think that is more likely than the Hornets passing us.
