They are the two best rumored to have been available. I don't see where in my post I said they were equivalent in talent- Butler is obviously better, but I would have been happy with Wallace and that sounds like the trade that almost went through.

Fair enough. I just think (as you appear to) that Butler was the much better option in a trade. I thought you were equating the two players, when clearly one is superior to the other. Thank you for clarifying, and I retract my "invalidated" claim.

I still make a deal for Richard Jefferson. He's the perfect fit for BRoy on the wing.

Andre Miller is a very bad fit for this team......for many reasons.

-has range only to about 16 feet, we need a point guard who can hit from deep. Period.

-not really effective off the ball, with the ball in Roy's hands, Miller becomes worthless (horrible catch and shoot player).

-far too slow. Gets absolutely torched by quick guards. (this is why we lose to Philly, we can't take advantage of this w/ Blake.)

Would you trade Lafrentz and Rudy/Batum for him? All reports indicate that those two guys were in almost every trade scenario and were the deal breakers on our end.

We could afford to give Travis 6 years and Martell 4+ years to develop because we were a terrible team. We need a point guard now. The window is officially open. We are currently in 4th in the west, and have a very good shot at HCA. We can't afford to sit around and wait for a point guard to develop. We need a floor general now. Bayless may very well be the future of the position, but we don't need Mr. Right, we need Mr. Right now.

OK, let's say that it were Raef, Batum, and Sergio or Bayless for Gerald Wallace (and cap filler). Would you do that right now?

In a second! We would still have to figure out the point guard spot- but I'd be comfortable with being able to offer the midlevel to andre miller or bibby....or with staying with Blake for another year.

Nope, not that deal. Batum is going end up being our "Durant Stopper" (and believe me, we're going to need one for the next 10 years) If the deal had been Raef, Travis and Bayless/Sergio I'd be tempted.
