Laker fans are like that with everyone. While they have a historical rivalry with the Celtics....any team they face in the playoffs, they hate intensely....the Queens, the Sp*rs, the JailBlazers....that 's all they do. then when they aren't that good anymore, they stop caring....its not a real rivarly because Lakers only hate teams when they're good...while Blazers hate Lakers 4 LIFE
Get real.. Laker fans have strong hatred for Portland and it is a rivalry.. There was much less respect shown for the Kings back when they were the nemesis..
I just read today (on this board) that a Laker (Rambis???) said the most intense crowds or where they feel the most hate are in Boston and Portland.
when the blazers were shitty, most laker fans didn't care. the more a team wins, the more the laker fans hate them. they don't have respect for winning, they envy it when its not them.
hahahaha both teams need this one. I look forward to the playoff atmosphere and ensuing shit talk I will be entitled to make after the game.
Sorry kids, but almost every team in the west thinks they have a rivalry with the Lakers, but the Lakers only consider the Celtics a rival.
neither team has won 3 reg season games in the past 12 seasons. Thats a pretty good rivalry if you ask me. I don't care if LA fans consider it a rivalry, I just want the players to, and I think they do.
When the Blazers start punking the Lakers in the Staples Center, they'll wake up to the fact that the Western Conference title doesn't go through L.A. anymore.
In order for it to be a rivalry, both team have to win. Both teams have won at home. So I do view it as a rivalry. A few years ago I wouldn't have said that.
