Bidens problems with embellishing, plagiarizing or being a liar are well documented for many many years. I don't know what the problem is with all this. It's just the way he is.

Right. Questioning the administration when Bush was in office was an act of treason. Now that it's Obama, it's a-okay and I'm just having a blast.

"Questioning the administration" is not in itself an act of treason. Administrations have been "questioned" throughout our history. It's part of our process.

What's treasonous is when senators and representatives say "the war is not winnable" when our forces are fighting in the field. That certainly affects our soldiers' morale and undermines our national policy.

Questioning Obama's "stimulus" bill will have no affect on our troops whatsover. They couldn't care less about that kind of thing. As for Biden, our troops probably already know that he's a serial liar, so that won't affect them, either.

Funny, I think by defending this ridiculous spending, you just insulted the intelligence of the American people.

So what? You claim that most of them are fools who voted for Obama because they can't think for themselves. Or is this do-as-I-say-and-not-as-I-do day?

American troops fighting terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq aren't exactly focusing on the stimulus bill being debated back in D.C.. That's the point. They can certainly understand the nuances of a stimulus package, however; there's no doubt about that.

Did the President run on the $787B spending program? Did he run on tripling the size of the Federal debt? Did he run on $1T+ deficits in perpetuity? Nope. He ran on "Change" and "Hope" and allowed people to fill in the blanks for themselves.

Sounds like a pretty smart campaign strategy.

The problem is that he was declared to be new and different. Instead, it's like Pete Townshend wrote--meet the new boss; same as the old boss. It looks like the country just got fooled again.

It looks like that to you, because you don't agree with the direction things are going.

If you really think things are exactly the same as they were under Bush, then it seems like you'd be happy, being a Bush voter and all. If you think things have changed, then I'm not sure why you are claiming they haven't.

Hmm, I wasn't aware I had voted for President Bush in 2004. Your assumption is telling, however.

    Let's see what's the same

Are we still in Iraq? :check:

Are we still in Afghanistan? :check:

Are we still spending beyond our means to pay? :check:

Is the economy still headed downward? :check:

Is Europe still being uncooperative with our aims? :check:

Now let's look at all the things President Obama has changed

Appointing tax cheats to cabinet positions.

A stock market lower on almost every index.

    A higher unemployment rate.

    Increased deficits.

    Higher taxes.

    Increased Federal debt.

Sending Predator drones into Pakistan without their consent. They are an ally after all.

Now let's go through some of the things he's promised that he has broken

Five days to study bills before he signed them.:sigh:

    Tougher rules on lobbyists.:sigh:

Tax credit for companies that create jobs.:sigh:

Tax free withdrawls from retirement accounts.:sigh:

Sorry, I had thought that you had said in a prior thread that you did vote for him. If you didn't, then I was mistaken.

In 2004, neither candidate deserved my vote. As much as I supported President Bush' foreign policy, I thought his domestic spending was reckless.
