As much as I hear how bad Jack was for the Blazers, he's better than Sergio as an outside perspective. Sergio is looks atrocious at times, and just doesn't seem like he fits in well with Portland's system. The perfect PG for Portland would be a guy like Stephen Curry.

Jack is better than Sergio, which is probably why Indiana wanted him and not Sergio. ;)

Portland didn't make a choice between Jack and Sergio, they made a choice between Jack and Bayless. Considering Jack is still below-average compared to a starting point guard, I'd rather have the potential of Bayless.

IMO, Bayless is a more talented version and has a much better chance of being above average defensively than Curry does.

No, they made a decision to get rid of Jack, at any cost. It cost them Rush and McBob, and they got the Bayless project thrown into the deal so everyone was happy.

    Sergio was not available.

    Indiana is 35-45.

    10th in the least.

    19th in the league.

I mean, just look at those numbers:wink:

Anybody getting excited yet? Anyone? No?

    That's odd. :biglaugh:

We absolutely sucked with JJ, nice a guy as he is.

Who's one of the worst players in the league, despite being one of the most "NBA-ready prospects" in the draft.

A player barely hanging on in the NBA.

Certainly made Portland happy to get one of the most talented prospects in the draft.

I think Portland would prefer to have dealt Sergio, but you have to provide some value to make a trade happen.

I have a dry erase board at work where we write random predictions, statements, etc. About a week ago I wrote "We should have kept Jarrett Jack" because of how sad it is that Sergio and Bayless suck SOOOOOOoo bad. I'd much rather get a good starting point guard and have Blake be the backup. But if we can't do that and we're offered some sort of too good to resist trade that includes Sergio and Bayless I'd be delighted to bring back Jarrett.

I think that this post of yours is one of the posts that is most detached from reality that I've seen in quite some time.

If we think of Indiana as our farm team, then we just sent Jack down for a year of development...

and the fact that he's not a pg. gets his best work done without the ball in his hands where he won't make silly turnovers.

Bayless has more talent no doubt but Curry is exactly the same type of player as Steve Blake except he is more athletic where he can play somewhat good D and would instantly be a top 3 shooter in the league, maybe the best within 3 years from now...not to mention he's 6'3"

Ugh... no Jarrett Jack. There's a reason we got rid of him, as his flaws were magnified on a good team.. no thanks.

Jarrett is a good player who acquitted himself well here. I liked him as a Blazer and will always wish him well. However, his time here had passed. I'd much rather have Rudy come off the bench than Jack.
