Wow. Best game of the year. This team is SO much better with Craxette gone. Nobody playing "above" the team. Nobody slacking on defense. Everybody playing together as one unit. What an amazing game to watch. And how about the stretch with this lineup! Morrow Randolph Kurz Turiaf Biedrins That was hilarious. And they still kept the lead. Then in the 4th, Utah makes a push, and then... Close it out fellas! What a clutch way to finish off a playoff team and put the stamp on it. Morrow with the tip over Okur and the foul. Watson with clutch free throws. Have you seen a better game this year?
I underestimated this bunch. I thought our 7th seed is safe after Houston loss. Jazz is desperately fighting for PO spot, and losing against banged up 7 men crew, who just played last night means that they will have to face Lakers. But nooooooooo... They got blown up big in early, and never was able to catch up. Very nice game for Warriors, and since CJ can't guard, he just decided to outscore other guards. Still 1 game cushion and up against Spurs and Suns, while Raptors are up against 76ers, Wiz and Bulls...
Kurz is like the 2nd coming of Matt Bonner, GS has a great young core but they need to get rid of guys like Maggette & Crawford.
Is there another team in the league with more whiney little bitches than Utah? Granted, it was probably one of the worst-officiated games I've seen in a long time.
Dallas, LAL. New Orleans is probably tied for 3rd place with Utah. I bet we're one of those teams that people hate playing too though. Mags with his ridiculous foul-drawing, Jackson with his constant bitching to the refs, Crawford getting fouled on half of his 20+ foot jumpers, Monta rolling around on the floor like he just got shot after a marginal fall (then he gets up and plays at 100% 30 seconds later), AR talking mad shit and trying to show everyone up.
Kurz is a very fundamentally sound player. If he can keep up this kind of play, he would be a perfect backup to Randolph at PF next season, which I guess says that I'm giving up on BWright.
I can see Nelson thinking Kurz is his poor man's Andrea Bargnani, and he could cut into AB's time next season along with Turiaf. However, I don't want to give up BWright unless it's for Chris Bosh. The guy will turn into a nice player and keeper. It's too bad the Warriors don't appreciate the low post game. ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
I hate to give up on Wright, but his injury has really killed his value to the team. I can say the same about Marco. These guys were making very good progress this year until they got injured. Then, Randolph, Morrow, and Watson stepped up their game big time, pushing them out of picture. It should be an interesting summer.
I love it. Nelly plays Kurz earlier in the year and people go crazy. He has a good game, and all of a sudden Wright is expendable. As for injuries, half of these "injuries" are due to people landing on other people's feet. Had the Warriors been in a playoff run, you can bet that half of the guys in suits would be playing.
It really is funny how that works, huh? Well, let's put it this way. Had Randolph not played so damn well and Wright didn't get injured, it would be totally different. Here's a question: what's more important, developing Wright or getting rid of Crawford and possibly Maggette? If Wright can be used as a piece to be able to accomplish trading Crawford and/or Maggette, I think it's worth considering, especially given Randolph's progress.
I'd say it's almost a certainty that Wright will be moved this summer. 1. His injury took him out of the spotlight and allowed the rise of Randolph who I think most would agree is clearly more talented, with a higher upside, and probably will play the same position. 2. Nellie never really liked Wright much. That's just my perception of it, but I think it's true. Whether it's Wright's laid-back demeanor, mediocre rebounding, inflexibility (Wright really is only a PF, where most players in Nelson's system can play multiple positions), or inability to handle defensive switches and not be late on help D I don't know, but I just don't think he gets any respect from Nelson. 3. Wright is still a pretty valuable trade piece. He's still young and clearly has talent. Lots of teams can use a young, efficient-scoring, shotblocking PF. And his contract is still reasonable. 4. I don't see the Warriors paying two players first round money at the same position. Wright will cost $800,000 more than Randolph next year and $1.4M more the year after, assuming no new contract. With Biedrins and Turiaf at C, I don't see enough minutes for the two of them either. Randolph should be playing 30+ minutes per game next year if it's my team.
