Sergio 12 assists in 18 mins? That's amazing!! He' sure has came on since his benching! I guess Nate knows what he's doing! Ok, I know there are a lot of different threads and some are going to probably be merged, but I wanted to get one in! And that is pretty amazing!
In some rare instances there needs to be a put down thread, because Sergio has been put down too often. The dude can play and it is time to stop with the extreme descriptions of our players.
No he wasn't playing great, but you could see the skills. To me it was more of a style issue. But once we started pushing it........his skills became obvious. He still has a ways to go, but he gets better all the time.
Sergio finished the season strong, but he was playing like a pile of shit for much of the season. I hope he continues his good play into the playoffs.
Sergio flourishes in an open-court style. When he's running and playing with flair, it even helps him in half-court sets. Playing a slow-down disciplined game seems to drain him of any use. He and the second unit should be given the free rein to run, run, run. It really maximizes him and the other reserves.
It's mind-boggling how much talent we have on this team. Our bench was fantastic tonight. All I can say is, look out NBA! The Blazers are coming!
Fans were calling Sergio "worthless". They ought to be called out. I wonder how many that were saying that, still think so?
Exactly. He's going to have to find a way to be effective in a grind-it-out halfcourt style against Houston. But Sergio gets props for tonight. 12 assists in 18 minutes? Geez! That's pretty impressive.
Ok call me out. He was playing worthless, lately he has not. Some people just like to call it as it is. Others like to over value most of the roster and especially young projects.
I don't have any particular beef with Sergio, I just think he's been wildly inconsistent with his shot and is (still) a poor fit with Roy in the backcourt. He played great tonight, and he deserves a lot of credit for really pushing the tempo and breaking the game open, but I'm still not sold on him as a long term answer as the starter; if he shows he can step it up in a grind it out, physical playoff series against a playoff style defense (and boy oh boy did we get a doozy for an opponent) then more power to him. Having any of our point guards show they are big time players in big time moments sure will make KP's life easier this summer as he decides who to keep and who to cull.
anybody notice the big change in sergio is that he's not trying to be a 3 point shooter, instead he's taking and making more hittable shots in the key while still looking to pass first.
