I just notice the last time the Blazers played the Nuggets was during the time Sergio was in Nate's "doghouse." It'll be interesting to see how Serg does tomorrow night.
I imagine it'll look something like this: Bake it!
I am very interested to see how our play of late translates to playing the Thuggets. They flat out intimidated us in March in the Pepsi Center and we wilted. I suspect we have some steel in our spine now. I don't think K-Mart's or Birdman's punk act will work as well as it did last time.
That's weird, I don't rememer it that way. I remember Rudy getting rejected by the Birdman, and Aldridge getting the ball and promptly making sure he facialized the birdman to make a point. I thought most of it just came down to execution.
We saw the game in different venues. I was at the Pepsi Center, so my impression was probably more influenced by the crowd. Oftentimes, seeing the game on television offers more objective analysis. I do remember the Thuggets barking in our ears all night and us backing down.
For the record, Chris "Bird Shit" Anderson has become my least favorite player in the NBA. Just thought I'd share.
I'll admit, I've been an avid hater of Sergio since day one. But he's had flashes of brilliance, and lot of those flashes are recently. If he can do it consistently, I have no doubt he'd be a better PG option than Blake. I think a lot of it had to do with his improved scoring ability. He's been getting a lot of lay ups and tear drops that actually go in now. Jumpshooting could still use some improvement, but it's good enough as is to keep defenses somewhat honest.
I honestly don't understand how fans of the team can have personal animus toward any of these players. Do I like Blake? Yep. Sergio? You bet. Bayless? Absolutely. I want to see and root for all of them to do well. They all bring different attributes to the game and are all useful in specific situations. For example, putting in Sergio was the equivalent to flipping on the nitrous booster in a hot rod. The Nugs did okay at what they thought full speed for this team was, then we flipped the Sergio switch and it was goodnight, Irene.
