From the looks of the game I don't know what to think... they keep showcasing strikers so it makes me wonder if the submission system isn't quite right, otherwise we'd be seeing more attempts. There doesn't seem to be health or energy meters so I guess they have some other way of demonstrating damage, maybe in your character getting slower or reacting differently to attacks. I don't think I'll buy this game out of the gate but rather read reviews and rent first. THQ has turned a very fun wrestling game franchise into pure garbage since the last generation of consoles so I don't have high hopes for their efforts here.
Thanks. Guess I should only have one tab open at a time since I don't seem to be able to differentiate...
I actually have high hopes for this game speeds. I didn't think it looked too bad. I bet in the coming days they'll release a fight video involving mostly wrestling and then one involving mostly BJJ. This one seemed to be focused on striking. I loved Goldie's comment about Rampage's chain
Well I'm skeptical of anything that comes from THQ. The company is unreliable at best. The dialogue seemed good but there was a problem with volume and pitch. The commentary is jarring, presumably from multiple recording sessions. Its something 2K and EA have sorted out nicely in their sports games. THQ will release follow up UFC games in 2010 and 2011.
So, we will only have to debate about how good/bad this game will be for another week. A demo is coming out April 23rd according to their site. http://community.ufcundisputed.com/forum-topic/demo-release-date-0
