The New York Yankees lost to the Cleveland Indians by a score of 10-2. CC Sabathia started but got a no decision. CC Sabathia pitched 5.2 innings. Jose Veras got the loss.

This is not the outcome us Yankee fans wanted in the new stadium. It could of been a historic game for the Yankees for about 6 innings but not until the 7th.

The Yankee bullpen did not do the job in the 7th inning. Jose Veras did not have good control and Damaso Marte did not have a good outing. Together, they gave up 9 runs in the inning.

The Yankee fans were looking for something early to latch on to and get excited about but nothing happened.

CC Sabathia did not have good stuff especially compared to his last start. He was flat and got the balls up and did not have the great command like he did in Kansas City. In Kansas City he was getting ahead with his fast ball and had a really good slider.

Today’s start he didn’t have it all going on and he had to work and throw a lot of pitches. You have to give CC credit, he threw 122 pitches, grinded his way through this ball game but kept his team in position to win. He walked 5 batters and tried not to give into the hitters. He walked the right guys and got the batters out he knew he could.

The Yankees played good defense in the early part of the game but the offense couldn’t come through with big hits and Sabathia’s outing would of been looked at differently if he left with a lead. The result of the ineffective offense was a high pitch count. He bent but he never broke and left with the game tied.

The bull pen was beaten up in Kansas City and got a lot of use and you hope that these guys were rested but they didn’t show it.

Jose Veras did not have control. He walked the only batter he faced in Kansas City and today, walked the first batter on 4 straight pitches. He’s going to have to attack the strike zone more to get better results. He needs to get the attack mentality back.

Damaso Marte looks flat like his arm angle is lower than it normally would be when he throws the ball which causes the slider to stay on the same plane. You saw it with Grady Sizemore. Sizemore was able to hook the ball for a grand slam even though the ball was on the outside corner. Marte needs to get his arm angle up. If the ball doesn’t have any dip to it, you can still get the barrel of the bat on it.

The perfect person to hit the first home run in the new Yankee stadium besides Derek Jeter was Jorge Posada and he hit a solo home run to be the first. However, the problems the Yankees faced where leaving a lot of men on base and bad pitching by the bullpen.

DaRizzle who's your favorite baseball team? I'm pretty sure you hate the Dodgers and I've never seen an Angels-related post from you.

I hate baseball. I only play fantasy baseball to kill time waiting for basketball to start again.

I have a roommate who loves the Dodgers and watches every fuckin game so I made sure I had at least one Dodger on my team (furcal).

I enjoy going to 3-5 games a year just cause its fun to get fucked up in the parking lot and hang at the game with some friends...You will never see me turn on a game on TV...unless its playoffs....and I am gonna be doing other stuff while the game is on.

Im strictly speaking from a fans standpoint, I enjoy playing almost any kind of sport
