The Blazers have been blowing teams out at home, and losing a lot on the road. If a blowout is defined as a win by 15 or more points, will there be any blowouts?
I say no 'blowouts' (12+ point margins of victory) These are going to be some really low scoring affairs. I predict mid-eighties to low-nineties kinds of scores. Both teams are defending well, neither runs a lot of fast breaks (Well Portland has lately at times) and it's just going to be a very physical, tightly contested series IMO.
Yeah, I don't see any blowouts either. Both teams have pretty good defenses and we're pretty evenly matched. It's going to be one of the more competitive first-round series.
Really, Portland has been losing a lot on the road? I think a 20-21 record is a good road record. I see 24+ road wins as very good. Sure, Portland only won two road games in the west against playoff teams, but that pretty much holds true for all of the west. Dallas managed two wins in Portland, and the Hornets got one with Roy out and we returned the favor when Paul got injured. Portland has won many road games to close out the season and have kept the losses close and competitive. I doubt there will be any wins in this first round decided by more than 10 points with the Rockets. Defensive battles rarely produce blow outs.
I think we take the first two and lose by more than 10 in game three. So I picked one Houston blowout.
